Well, the lockdown seems to have started so to relieve the boredom at only half a day in I painted the parts for th new door. I also washed the car, might take it out for a drive tomorrow before they ban us from doing that as well

We went for a drive today, and was going to wash the cars tomorrow Popped up my mums too, and dropped some flowers off, then stood at the top of the drive and had a brief chat. I suppose as I won’t be doing that tomorrow, might go for another drive too

Went for a nice drive today - went over to a mates and helped him work out where his engine should sit in the car (Pop with a V6 from a bug eyed Scorpio). Had a nice drive home again.
New indicator stalk is rubbish! worse than the old one & keeps flicking main beam on. Have to try my other spare one.

Been decorating recently but did a bit more this week, got all of the small bits of the new door done and glossed light grey on the rear faces, they are now rivetted onto the main panel and I ran the DA over it to remove all of the old clearcoat. Then shot a coat of silver basecoat over it to see how it all looked. It needs a bit more rubbing down in a couple of places and I would really like to fill the rivet heads over but I don't have any filler at present and the lockdown means there is no chance of getting any in the near future

It's highly recommended in the Hot Rodding world Chris, no pinholes, feathers really well and a super smooth top finish. There is also a self levelling one (which I seem to have bought - I wanted the std one). Filler link

Well, I used the filler today and all I can say is................It's bloody awesome!!
As recommended I knocked off the high spots of filler after 10 minutes while it was still green, and as promised it does not clog the paper at all! 5 mins later I had smoothed it with 600 grit wet n dry (dry)which also did not clog.
Filler seems very smooth (it's got the consistency of mustard before hardener) and sands easily with no pinholes as promised. Ive done 3 fills this afternoon (basic, smooth & final low spots) all within 30 mins and I'll get a coat of primer on before the end of the afternoon.
Amazing stuff, I can see why it's recommended.

Did you document it for the masses? Or does it look like every other photo of filler?

Panel now with it's second coat of clear on it. Not entirely happy with it as it's a bit orange peely. It's a new clearcoat and I'm not really used to it yet. I did an 'extra' pass at the end in a couple of places and they are very smooth, so maybe I just have not put enough on. I'll see how it flats out & polishes, might all dissappear in the cutting stages.
