well as I had a minor breakdown the other day - floats in carb got stuck so it poured fuel into the engine and we found 2 loose screws on the needle spring covers as well - I was rescued by the tools of fellow rodders Colin & Phil. I don't carry tools in the car unless going on a long trip (foolhardy or confident??) so I thought it might be prudent to at least have a small toolkit in the car. A bit of searching and I found this little Bosch kit, it has Torx, allen key, flat & crosshead screwdriver and 4 common sockets with a mini ratchet handle & an extra screwdriver/lever handle. It's smaller than it appears on the web, but it will fit in the boot tool tray perfectly

Mark,
If you have enough room to squeeze it in, I'd suggest adding some soft, annealed Mechanic's wire to the kit...
Love the car,
Lance

Had to look up what that was Lance, but can't see it would be of much use?

Today the postie dropped these in to me - courtesy of the very kind man mr Rebuilda who got them for me totally free of charge - which is pretty awesome and I am very grateful. Went to fit them to the car but a slight hitch - they had offset pins (not sure if that was my error or the Ring reps error) but a tickle with a file on one pin saw them fitted. Results are below - photo is terrible so I will try to do a better one or maybe a short video, LED bulb is on right and std on left. Trying to catch the moment when they flashed was tricky and it was barsteward cold tonight!! That my excuse for the camerashake anyway. It's not very obvious in the photo of much difference, but the lamp is more orange, not really much brighter but it is a much faster flash in terms of the LED is on/off whereas the std bulb takes a fraction of a second to light up and far longer for the light decay as it goes off. It's not such an obvious improvement as the LED brake lamp bulbs, but I am happy that it IS an improvement over the std bulbs.

#facepalmoffsetpins... I didn't even think to check if the pins were offset... I'll have a look at some of the alternatives again.

I was under the impression that all yellow indicator bulbs had offset pins. To stop halfwits putting white bulbs in units that need yellow ones. I could be wrong though; it does occasionally happen.

If you feel the urge to come to the kit car nationals on the first may bank holiday we'd be happy to have you come and join us although I'm sure you could get space in the main hall.

The vehicles designed to have amber bulbs fitted do have offset pins, the Lucas part No. is LLB581. If, however you're going to fit lamps with clear lenses to a vehicle designed to have amber lenses then the amber bulb you require is a LLB343 (which replaces the clear version LLB382). Other companies sometimes use the 382 number, but then add a "Y" or "R" on the end to denote yellow or red options.
