Oof rough day. If you weren't breaking the limit by too much they'll probably send you on a speed awareness course. Costs the same as the fine, but you don't get the points. Unless you've already done one in the past 2 years. You're boned then

I'm pretty sure it was under 35mph and clean licence for 4 or 5 years so hopefully the course. Maybe they wont be able to read the no plate properly...........

It used to be 10% plus 1mph... 33 in a 30 you got away 35 you got a ticket 34 you got to go on the course.... Or it was when I went on my course

I believe they recently introduced a very draconian ruling of it being the speed limit, no leeway, go over by any amount and it's a penalty. I could be wrong but that's what I understood.

For some reason I thought that was only in a certain region, Wales or Scotland I think? I know it certainly used to be regional. When I did a course in Somerset 10 years ago it was 10% +2, so 34 you were ok, 35-39 you got an awareness course and 40+ you got a ticket. Loving the Pop by the way, the IVA side of things got me starting to read this thread, but I've kept following it for ages just because of how cool the car is and the quality of work. Keep it up!

Still , you've had your speedo calibration officially checked Mind you was it lines in the road or radar tracked for the set distance ? It may have been confused by the wing if radar tracked? Just a thought

There are many cameras that flash but not actually live so you might be okay. As for the Speed awareness threshold, it depends on the area. In Avon and Somerset they have increased it as they get to keep the money, split between everyone except the government and also widened the scope of crimes that you can attend.
Seatbelts, phone use are just a couple. 14 days you will know, just make sure that you check the post mark and the day it is delivered as it worked for Beckham. If it is outside 14 days, try to get the postman to verify it as that allegedly counts as proof.

RobinJi - thanks for the compliments. Kapri - lines in road (nearly worn out tho) std old fashioned 'box' camera, not the new fancy ones. So hopefully only the flash & no camera fitted? It is outside the local high school though so maybe not Guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks.

Nice video, gets across the atmosphere well, with the V8 burble and view over the scoop, good stuff. Now we need another one with a bit more acceleration. I was was wondering about the lens effect at the top of the windscreen too. Also your roundabout moment, how easily did it lock up? do you think another set of front wheels or tyres might be better for on the road or was it very hard braking that caused it Wider wheels/tyres would help immensely - but then it's not what the car is about. It was fairly hard braking but it did catch me unawares as it was progressive and not from a quick stab of the foot. It did stop quick though but not without a bit of drama! Your M1144's are fun as well then! Followed the bedding in procedure yesterday then took a friend out for a passenger ride. Little did he know! No seat belt plus a very hearty press of the brake pedal has left me with a forehead print on my windscreen! Shame about the camera! I got flashed a few months ago by a similar camera and nothing came through. I may have been into license bye bye territory! You should be fine.

Well I was 'oficially' doing 35mph - I'm such a menace to society!! Funny enough 31-35 = ticket, 35-42 = possible speed awareness course which is now voluntary. You have to tick the box to say you would like to go on the course and they then decide if they will offer you one. Of course I ticked the box

The trivia you learn, like the speed limit on London Bridge will stand you in good stead at a pub quiz. Apart from that,it's a waste of a morning....

Welllllllll.......... not much to report recently, thought in light of the speeding ticket it would be prudent to have the SatNav in tha car at all times, so to make this as painless as possible I have installed a double 2.1A USB socket and bought a second SatNav mount to permanently be fitted in the Pop. Also got around to buying a new Rover SD1 electric window motor, I'll be discarding the mechanism so jimspolicev8sd1 might have a use for the rest of it? Bought a new motor for the passenger side, drivers side works fine but is a lot slower than the newer passenger motor so thought I'd get a replacement while I still can.
