Well done Congratulations brilliant stuff, so very happy for you I have watched and read this thread with interest, occasionally commenting, it has been a bit of a long trek, but the hard work has paid off so now I have a few questions . .. It is a 'new' registration right? a 2018 reg? so how does that go with insurance? What do you insure it as? It isn't a 'new' car, it is a classic vehicle with a new reg, so can you still insure it as a classic, albeit a heavily modified one, or is it insured as a new car? Or will it be insured as a 'kit car'? also, I assume you have to pay tax on it, is that as per the 'new car' rates or is it taxed on the age of the engine? Fantastic build though...really damn fine job

Congratulations, this was of course the only real outcome to be expected and to do justice to your dedication to the IVA mods. Well happy for you like so many others!

Well done on the pass. Proof that hard work and proper understanding of the rules doesn't mean the end for such stunning projects - Euro nannies be damned !! Phil. but the euro nannies don't like us having the IVA test. So, the sooner we are out of Europe the better!

It's a first registration 2018. Q plate as not new parts & not donor parts. 2. Insurance as what it is - BPR Outlaw Anglia. 3. Just insured with a a specialist broker as what it is - a custom built special. 4. No - It's not a kit car but the policy will pretty much be the same. 5. Tax is flat rate on capacity as no C02 info is available - taxed as a vehicle first registered prior 2001 Above 1549cc. £255

First, congrats on the pass!
Second, I know its a pain in the rear but actually you are lucky in a way. Here in Ireland there is no test for an car over 40. "Great" you might say after that rigmarole! If you can insure it, you can drive it. As a result, there are a huge amount of fillered up rot boxes, unsafely welded etc cars about. loads of people plating 10/15 year old cars with old chassis tags, like a discovery on 70's Landy plates, or a 90's Jag on 70's plates to get the cheap road tax (€56) on historics. Nobody is checking and so standards are plummeting like a stone. I see a heavy handed crack down or outright ban in our future. Be glad of the test and well done again sir!
Third, I'm also, hoping you continue to post esp if you start a new project to fill the evenings.

Oh, f***, yes. Many congratulations!
Just one tiny thing though. We're all congratulating you on making it not-an-outlaw and then you went and bloody called it an Outlaw. I guess Inlaw Anglia didn't sound as good heh!

Mark
What are the regs for the DVLA to issue you a Q plate, will it be a period number layout style to go with the cars age or a modern style?
Well done for being legal now.

Well done on the pass. Proof that hard work and proper understanding of the rules doesn't mean the end for such stunning projects - Euro nannies be damned !! Phil. but the euro nannies don't like us having the IVA test. Not strictly true. The type approval directive specifically allows for this. The French have ONE centre but will only deal with camper vans while the Germans use TUV which is costly and difficult. The rest don't bother. Sorry for the derail Mark.

Pete, it will be a modern 7 digit plate and 'should' be black/yellow. It may not be though
