Pic stolen from Chas who just sold me this wonderful barge of a car. Plan is either to do it up all nice like (but that'd mean losing the excellent headlining so probably not!) or leave it just as it is a shed around in it or maybe, just maybe, paint it matt yellow with crash test stickers down the sides. Either way, should be an experience. Love looking like a peace loving hippy and then leaping into this fuel guzzling beast!

Like the faux-crash test look idea.....acquire some mannequins and drive round with all the seats filled with featureless dummies!!!

Ian, Ian, WTF are you doing man? First of all you buy a Volvo, then you buy an Eriba Puck rolling road block, then you start a thread in the wrong section AND you can't even get the model of car right! I think you could be losing the plot, especially with that 'tribal/celtic' sticker on the bonnet on your Honda....

Oh crikey! Oops! Was in a rush yesterday, can you tell?! (Explains why I couldn't find this thread this morning!)
Can a mod to the decent thing and move this? (who said delete it?!)
By the way, if anyone is breaking a 740 auto, do let me know. No rush to sort the transmission out but would be nice to do it one day.

They are lights Archieboy! Quite funky really - confuses people when they spot you clambering into the car at night as it really doesn't fit the whole OAP thing!
Tetleysmooth - to be fair to the car, the headlining is a union jack, most of the interior plastic is cracked and broken, it's scruffier than a bag of scruffy things, the transmission is ill and a few bits are missing. Not sure it has much resale value! Besides, this isn't the land of originality here. There are better Volvos to keep original.

Like the faux-crash test look idea.....acquire some mannequins and drive round with all the seats filled with featureless dummies!!! Crash test look FTW . Glad you have happy with a few aspects of the car Ian . With regards for looking for an Autobox, they do pop up from time to time on ebay, as well as www.volvoforums.org.uk . I hope it's serving you as well as it did for me . Now I have no retro ride to drive! Time to get that 'B sorted methinks. You coming down to the Long Itchington meet at all or is it a bit far for you?

Bit far sadly. too much other stuff on too!
Towed our new caravan quite happily last night (paper light though!) so gearbox will be remaining as is for a while yet. Hopefully.
Now get that B sorted and post it up here!
