Hello people,
Been lurking around this site for a while, thought it was about time i came out of the shadows.
Heres my daily driver,
Bought this about six weeks ago to replace a 98 Alfa Romeo 155 2.0 16V T-spark, the alfa was a great car but just too friggin technical and hard to work on for me so i went for a nice basic ford. Was considering a MK4/5 Cortina or another Capri but the Granada came up in my local add trader and i went for that.
It's a 1984 2.8 Ghia X auto barge with all the toys, air con, electric heated seats and all that mince, it's been great so far, i've had to put new brake shoes , pads and wheel cylinders on it, a ball joint, tie bar bushes, a couple of tyres and i got the tracking done and gave the motor a service so it's now driving really nice (handles like a dingy in a storm though )
It's my daily car but my work is only four miles from my house so i don't do big miles and it's kept in the garage now since i got a lock up for my capri, so the big Granny's got an easy life.
Here's my Capri 3.0S,
Had this about six months, it's my fifth Capri, it was a farly tidy car when i bought it and i could have put it on the road as it was mot'd but on close inpection the sills needed done and rot was breaking through on the wings so i decided to tear into it and get it done, all the welding is done now (found more than expected) and the wings are on, it had a vinyl roof on it when i got it but it was getting scabby and i'm not a fan of vinyl roofs so that came of and went in the bin, the roof is just rattle canned black for now, the car will be getting done all one colour which is fairly rare (and bright ) signal amber.
Mechanically the car is great, it's got 2.8i bilstiens on it with single leaf rear springs and 2.8i vented discs, wheels are laser four spokes for now but may swap these for something else next year (still 13" and retro though ) and the S stripes will be going back on once it's painted
