Couple of pics of my "new" car sat outside my mates house. Gonna get it MOT'd next week hopefully then the mods can begin. All the chrome is there but my mate took it off and kept it in his garage. Its an alloy head 1725cc with twin strombergs and 4 speed box with o/d. Plan is lowered 6" front, 5" rear, 8x13 compomotive wheels for the time being (with view to fitting wider 13s), rebuild the spare engine with vizard mods and maybe bike carbs/throttle bodies. Matt

Very nice, you've got all the bits I want for Madge (my Vogue), twin headlamps, o/d box, twin carbs................ I've had Madge 11 days now and she's great. You're gonna love the Sceptre version - nicer dash in yours too. Do you have a copy of the article by D Vizard ?? I'm having no luck finding one. If you do, any chance of emailing a scanned copy? Baz

I'm trying to find a copy of the Vizard article too. I should have a spare pair of twin carbs and a manifold as there s a set spare.

Cheers Matt, If I find it first I'll let you know and pass on a copy. Re the carbs: Thanks but I've already accepted an offer of a pair inc manifolds. Don't throw them away though, you never know...... Baz

Quick update - car is now transported home so the fun can begin after the weekend when i've picked all my tools up from my mum & dads. First job is to sort the ignition barrel out as it jammed between my mates house and dropping the car off so I had to take the steering lock off. On the transporter Front Back 1725cc of powahhh - con rod bearing stuck in with locktite but got another engine to rebuilt. Boot full of parts - the sound of the boot shutting its the best i've ever heard lol Super cool interior. The headlining etc is all trimmed in the blue colour. Needs a new carpet though. First de-rusting job is to repair the o/s headlight panel. Matt

My major problem is about the paint. I absolutely love the colour, but once i'm done de-rusting theres gonna be primer everywhere. The bonnet, inset headlight panel, bootlid and panel between the rear lights are definetley getting painted satin black but not sure whether to fork out and get a respray of the rest in the same colour.

Just picked up these as they were cheap. Might use them (would need to re-drill the hubs but no problem) unless I can find some 10x15s any time soon. Was bidding on some silly racing car wheels the same as on slaters pug but think they'll be a bit much. Matt

Lovely car you have there, and those wheels are the nuts!!! Gonna have to disagree on the satin black though! Keep it blue!!!!!!! Looks cool as with the black roof! (But I'd go with the bit between the lights) Just my very humble opinion BTW!
