Ok, it's not up to welded diff and chopped spring spec yet, but here is the latest project, the animalistic 1.7 340. This boxy Swede has been laid up on a driveway for over a year but ‘Macaroni’, through RR, put me in touch with this 32k miler. Unfortunately, the previous owner became too unwell to drive, hence the sale. It has some form of Sainsbury’s car park ding in just about every panel, but it is rot free, the underside is fresh with underseal and the arches are mint, the bolts are even in the original metallic grey! It should pass an MOT with no problems, because it made the journey back home without a hitch and everything works, even the tyres are in good form. After a good ‘clear out’ – the misfire that was apparent on the driveway soon disappeared. The plan is to order a full service kit from Volvo, make sure the mechanicals are tip-top, and get it ready for some sideways action. A roof rack wouldn’t go a miss either, have you got one? I’m going to hit it with the lowering stick, fit a side exit exhaust, wide 13s and the mentioned roof rack to carry spare wheels/tyres. I keep seeing 7x13 ATS Classics for sale in 4x100 for the Golf etc. But do you know if they will fit this bad boy? I know the PCD is ok, but it's more the centre bore that I'm worried about...

Nice... good luck with the project, should be pretty good with that kinda mileage too!
Don't go for the 13" look though... on low pro's they look way to small and the look is being overdone imo... there are alot of 340 clones atm!
With moar power you don't need a small rolling radius and less grip... get some 15's ;D

as I said in my thread it looks an awsome beginning basis to work with! I agree the 13" look is overdone etc but it does look damn good still haha, although as I posted in my thread go for some thing different other than minilites or revo's (like what I have) ATS Classics would probs look mint on it! As for the center bore you'll probs find the wheels are slightly larger than the hub, which is an easy fix with some Spigot rings I gotta get some for the revo's Keep us updated on the project, I will be keeping an eye on this

Thanks for the comments boys, and to the modboy for putting it on Classics - it looks the one! I bought the below from Volvo specialist, Braydon Motor Company in Hackney - with the abuse this bad boy is going to get, there's no point in poncing around and spending a couple of quid less on pattern parts! Next stop, cam belt, gearbox oil, engine oil... After that, it's diff time, suspension drop and a wheel/tyre combo!

Cheers Mr. Dolly I've got too many projects on the go to be doing this but oh well, you only live once. More eGay purchases, new replacement n/s wing mirror and a Haynes manual for 50p Found a wheel combo too, Alleycats... 7x13 fronts with 8j at the rear. Haven't taken the plunge yet but they would look the business.

You curse word! I paid 99p for my manual lmao Also had to buy the clio manual for the engine. Even still got the pair inc. P+P for less than £10 lol. Those alleycats sound the f*cking mutts! i'd go for it man! Get some arch flaring on the go at the rear

Cool car. Pretty sure centre bores shouldn't be a problem as most alloy wheels have a spigot ring made of plastic/nylon to make them seat correctly on the hub!

Griffo. Haha, I thought 50p was a bargain, but 99p? No way! Apparently if I go lower than two-inches on the rear, she'll rub. Lucky. I'll bear that one in mind when it comes to second hand rims, or if a set of ATS Classics roll up, but the mentioned Alleycats are a direct fit, thank fook. Speedle. I hope the mileage is genuine, but I can't see the previous owner being of the 'hair cut' type
