Ive had my cortina for 2 years now, she was my everyday car until last year when the engine seized after the sump cracked and drained all the oil before I could do anything she has had the front end repaneld as the strut tops werent properly done which then led on to more and more rust being found - that was about 3 months after having her the plan is to get her running with something more modern but I'm not sure what engine yet but I'm thinking about either a 2l zetec or a 200sx engine but I need to talk to the insurers 1st! after the bodywork was finished ive decided to change the wellers for a set of dunlop d1's which I'm half way through getting painting etc plenty of room this was her on saturday

Nice car, those Dunlop D1s will look well smart for sure. Liking the glovebox lid inside checks as well.

been a while but I managed to get a bit done before I went back to uni, if I can I wouldnt mind bringing it up here found one of the chasis rails needs work so if anyone near where the car is (mansfield) could teach me how to weld as ive never done stuff like this before id make it worth your while with Beer but generally its not looking too bad for an old girl the end result oh and I took some frustraion out on the exhaust that woundt come off which has a decent back box on it if anyone wants it they can have the whole lot otherwise ill just throw it _________________

Mk1 Cortina's always a favourite. Those D1s are the Dog's! Glad it's a 4 door too, IMHO they actually look better. Engine? I'd keep it straightforward and go for the Zetec, everything's available for it and all the cock-ups have been done and sorted by others! Plus, once it's in you can tune it to your heart's content. Sort brakes and suspension first though. Keep us updated.

Cortinas! Absolutely love 'em! That's all really!!! Seriously, cool car you have there and i agree with bazateer, go for the Zetec as it's all off the shelf!
