Hi there, wanna introduce our new daily driver. It´s an 1989 Peugeot 309 XS Series 1. We are third owner. It´s got 36.500 miles from new (58.000 km), but was ugly and very dirty as we got it. Engine is a 1.9 / 109 HP. Meanwhile it´s getting cleaned and polished. Just drove it a few meters yet - but even this short trip was great fun. The car runs well

thanks mate, i´ll tell her. Jessi is a real gearhead girl - her favourite ride would be a round arched Midget in satin chokolade brown. (dreams ) Look foreward for some new pix this weekend

We spend the weekend in the garage but worked relaxed and slow It´s a hobby. The 309 is now clean, polished and waxed. We like the anthracite color very much. The body is nearly rustfree, no gravel scratches on the hood but parking dents at the rear. The old-aged pre-owner seems to try parking via acoustic signals. Buyed a fuel cap at scrapyard -> 5 Euro. Coolest thing: nearly same colour as the car. Cheapest mods first. Go-faster decals! Should be used for our trackday Scirocco, but they don't get better by laying in the shelf. (´Rocco finish will last long). Some more graphics will follow to hide some dents. Interior is clean and tidy now thanks to Jessi We decided to resist the motorsport virus and put some Oldschool-ICE in. I´ve left some amps and speakers from the 90ies (when i was in an wild age). Just tried how it would look wit checkered sunstripe - but was canceld by the "style-police" (besides that we were to foolish to fix it nicely).

I did German for my GCSEs \ AS level (Abitur). I really want to start it again and take it to an A2, but it just isn't popular as an evening course these days. I'm very rusty also Grizz That said, I did manage most of Goodbye Lenin without the subtitles the other night, got the gist at least. Love the 309 by the way, but isn't 109 PS a bit low for a 1905cc XU? Is it smogged with the rubbish cylinder head?

I got these Infos from a guy in a german Pug-Forum: "The 109HP-Motor has a central injection system, so-called Mono-Motronic. The 120HP-Models used to have a Multipoint injection system with one "Einspritzdüse" (Injection nozzle ) for each cylinder. To reach 120HP, you´d have to change the head, wiring and injection system. The effect would not be worth the work. The 109HP-Mill goes straight forward." BTW: I like our Postman.

ah, that's typical for the german post, they loose two springs then Lmao! Made me chuckle that I LOVE 309's so much! Was seriously looking into the GTi's before getting the Volvo. Such an underrated forgotten track weapon! Overshadowed by the 205

205 are very cool also.
I´ve to say, that i completely forgot that the 309 had ever existed. But my gf was more impartially by checking the web for a new retro car.
I´m getting more enthusiastic about Peugeots the more i get informations about them..

the 205 is really cool, i got one for free a year ago, its a "Roland Garros", the cam belt snapped after 16 years... so i repaired it and gave it to my sister, last month the TUV was due and it passed without any problems... nice to drive... the 309 is almost gone over here, not to mention the GTI... for french cars, i am more into Renaults, must find a 12 wagon....
