today i've purchased another Alfasud it's an '82 alfasud Ti 1.5 95bhp a bit of welding required for the APK, the dutch equivalent of the englisch MOT technically this sud is sound, so no brake-issues ;D the exterior is pretty 'ratty' , i'll leave it that way some pics a previous owner had already done some welding, but after grinding the welds smooth, did nothing to it so that has to be done again

Get a wire brush fitted to an angle grinder on the rusty welds the metal might come up OK. Suds are cool cars my mates dad had one when I was little the handling was immense.

biggest problem is that the previous repair is scraping the door so it'll have to come out again and redone properly this time

Hey an old mate of mine had a Sud. It was waay cool. He bought it from a main dealer. It was 18 month old and we were so jealous as the rest of us could only afford old bangers. He was pleased as punch it was so cheap for a practically new car.
Upon inspection. 18 month old and already rusting away!!! It lasted until it's first MOT.
[edit] not scrapped just had to sell it for virtually nothing as he couldn't afford the welding it needed to pass.

I have started the welding on the sud first took out the door and the frontwing and attacked the rust with the wirebrush on the anglegrinder. than I patched up the outersill. not to look good, but just for strength. next was the innersill/floorpan joint also patched up now all the welds and bare-metal is covered in primer tomorrow i'll seal the welds off and put the wing and door back in

Took the sud home last weekend, carefully driving around until I find a bit of time to get it tested ;D changed the wheels to original green cloverleaf wheels, I wanted to put 15"on, but they didn't fit in the rear arches, the sud is to low also did some finetuning on the carbs, idled at 1800rpm now idles at 800rpm and runs much smoother

the Alfasud failed the test unfortunately so i have been busy with it today to make the list a lot shorter, I had some welding to do on the floorpans, i had hoped it would have been an advisory, but it was a fail also started to clean up the brakediscs, the sud had been stored outside for over a year and a half, so they were rusty the rears have been done today, fronts are not so fine to do on the floor, so i will do that on a lift or so... pic's

my Alfasud is still going strong, i've been busy collecting bits for it, and found almost everything.
- OMP strutbrace - OMP rollcage - Sparco bucketseats - MOMO steeringwheelboss, and MOMO Corse steeringwheel - Goodridge braided brakehoses - new brakediscs and pads front and rear - yellow koni adjustable shockabsorbers front and rear - polycarbonate for the widewindows - yellow headlights - 1.7 carbsengine - shorter Ti QV gearbox - K&N open airfilters - complete CSC exhaustsystem - new radiator - 6Jx15 ET18 5 spoke mille-miglia wheels, will be painted white
so it will be in the workshop for some work, after that i will use the alfasud for trackdays/fun

LOL, suds tend to rot a bit that's for sure but the handling is superb
i have to put some pictures online, then i'll post them here
not sure what to do with the body, there's a few rustholes in it, actually quite a lot holes ;D should i repair that, or leave it as rusty as it is floors, innerwings and sills are all very solid, so it will pass the test anyway
and if i should repair it, i'm thinking of making wide arches in metal like lancia delta integrales
but for now i will first put all my attention to the mechanical side of it
