I CAN believe my bad luck, but only as iam used to it! To be honest I think I'm just glad the 'snow plough' front bumper didnt get damaged, they're impossible to find nowadays!
I think I'm going to forget the idea of claiming through the insurance, 1) I'd rather not loose 4 years ncb, 2) its an old car and would more than likely get written off and 3)I'm waiting to hear back from college this year as I want to learn panel beating and spray painting anyway!
Well I tried putting the rear wheel on the front and its still catching on the track rod end, so at least the wheels aren't buckled, also adjusted the tracking 'by eye' and it now drives straight (ish) and has lost all the slopp in the steering.
Roll on friday when its payday and i'll have some money to blow on the car!

Lovely motor! ;D I ran an '85 SR in silver for 7 years. Bloody brilliant drive! Only went when some git in a Citroen Xantia t-boned the (now ex-) wife at a junction. Driver's door, sill. floor, B post and o/s rear wing all totally buggered. had about 150k on the clock at the time and I'd just the week before had it MOT'd after doing the valve stem oil seals. I was gutted One of the few 'modern' cars I'd have again Baz

Small update: Picked up the new (2nd hand) wing and trial fitted it: Its not actually a bad fit, most of the shut lines are fairly even, just needs adjusting at the front as its higher than the bonnet at the mo, but its probably gonna stay looking dodgy for now as I'd rather get the mechanicals sorted first. The only other problem is what I found hiding behind the door strips: Seems as they were riveted in and rot has got in so that'll need addressing as well. Also got the problem with the rear arch separating from the inner arch:

Whaa bit of bad luck! Gutting. There very smart cars you've got/had there! Did notice the front bumper looked deeper than a standard bumper, it looks ace! Hope you get it sorted and it lasts this time dude!

not a great fan of Nova's mainly due to the sort of people that drive em which is a bit small minded of me really but thats a cracking example mate, shame about the yellow one as you don't see many in that color (at least not round my way) very tastefully done tho mate lovely example

Cheers speedle, although most people that keep novas now are more interested in modifying them performance wise, the days of fibreglass kits are gone thankfully!
Not really much of an update, after taking it back down the garage the only thing that needed doing was the tracking and re-balancing one of the front wheels! Bonus!
No idea whats happening with the bodywork though - as usual I'm skint, but at least its driveable!
