well the feelings of needing something small and nippy have finally got the better of me and ive bought a 205. got offered it the other by a car dealer mate, bit too old for his stock but he couldnt resist it and neither could i. its a gtx model, which i,ve never seen before, comes with a 1.4 single point injected engine . electric everything and a nice plush interior( for a 205), oh and the best bit.27000 miles on the clock . it really is straight as a die ,nothings seems worn out. and all the electrics work! even the speedo doesnt jump around in the french tradition. and its hella fun down the back roads( theres a lot of these where i live ;D) for some reason, the wheels seem to have suffered a lot worse than the rest of the car. lick of paint tomorow should see them right tho. no majr plans for this one, just a 40mm drop and some 306 14" steels(unless anyones got a set of fat gotti,s kicking about ) ideas and p/chops welcome!!

Very nice it is too, seats look really quite sporty! My mate had a XS (think it the same engine and stuff?) ran circles around my old XR2. Steels and a 40mm drop, as you've said. It'll be a winner

Add new front fogs to that 'to do' list and it'll be perfect ;D

Nice car, and I love the speedo. I'd love to do 130-0 as quickly as possible just to watch the needle whizz round. I guess with some serious grunt you could do 0-130 equally amusingly.

Yours is pretty rare as 205's go. GTX was only made for a year I think and only a few TU3 1.4's were injected. Its also probably one of the last RHD 205's as they stopped on L plates. And it looks like Moonstone Blue. Its lightest weight shell too, so it should be a real laugh down some twisties.
You've got your hands on a real jem there. 106 Rallye steels FTW.
AND check out that plate!

One of the last RHD 205s eh? I remember boggo-spec run out 205s being on sale until about 1995 or 1996. I've definitely seen N- and possibly P-reg' ones. wibblepoo pics, gorgeous car! Those high-spec 205 steelies always rust badly, I think they should be kept for their ugliness value. 306 steelies are a bit plain.

Thats pretty good! Looks a nice example, clean ans straight with tiny mileage I bet it is quite nippy with a 1400cc motor in that lighweight shell!

Wheels and bumpers need a going over... then it'll look 100 times better!
Will be interested to see how you get on with it! I have a fair few bits going spare if there's anything you partivcularly need.

Nice looking GTX. Well done going for steels rather than the ubiquitous 1.9 alloys.
And yes, those who say there were later 205s are right. There is a P reg one down here I see quite often, and I know the owner of a N reg 1.8 diesel.

I don't think we ever got the GTX in the Netherlands... The last 205's sold here where called "Generation" (pronounced French) they all came with the 1.4 engine. Those might be the same as your GTX as they also came with central door locking etcetera...
I remember my dad not being amused when the Generation was introduced as it was a bargain and my father used to have a 205 Ace in those days and it devaluated...
Not sure if you had the Ace model in England it was a special version here only produced in '93 I think. They had the 1.1 engine but with the XS wheels, the nicest 205 dash ever and wonderful black seats with the peugeot sport logo on them. The seats where supposed to be bucket seats but that was really to much credit, they where just sporty looking.
For a long time I thought that all 205 Ace's where red but I've recently seen a black one.
Edit: Oh, if this one is a '93 then the GTX is not the same as our Generation as it came later... A friend of mine used to drive a '97 205 Generation

OOh! 1.4i, nice. Whizzy whizz and cheapo tax joy. My dad has a 1.4i 5-door, which he finds adequate being cheap to run and reasonbly fast.
I used to have a 1.1 3-door many, many moons ago and that was a h00t.

Try PhilJ for Lowering suspension. Quality on mine seems very good and is cheap! I really want a 3 door Sub-GTI 205 at the moment and your particularly nice example isn't helping!
