Awesome!
Hats off to you guys. I think you're pervs for doing FWD, but it's still in the true spirit of back yard engineering.
Love it!

So how did this happen, did it race or die? Its still in progress, its hard what with the nights drawing in and the fact we both work hard and its not at my house etc... It will be done, don't worry, ready for next season at the pod!

Technically, we're £10 up on the whole thing, seeing as someone gave me £30 for a door and a wing, but in keeping with the spirit of the £100 thing, we're not counting any profit we make from selling bits/scrapping the shell! Cheers, Martin Just realised, that was me! Good to see what you have been doing to the car - should be great fun - would live to see this one in the flesh! Rysz.

It will be done, don't worry, ready for next season at the pod! Hopefully for a match race if all goes to plan here too We have just had to get the base Panda Vic tested before we started on all the hard work. We also reckon if we can lag behind your project by about a month you should hit (and sort) all the tricky bits just before we have to ;D I noticed in one of your pics it looked like you had some bucket seats in your Panda, beware they probably wiegh more than the originals (I've been a bit anal with the scales on ours!) We are also on a mega budget compared to you (with the car and engine both costing £100 each) Keep up the good work. cheers Damon

Hairnet - She still stands us at £23, thats for both cars and to get to the stage were at now, engine in etc...
Dazzo - I'd say J engines were one of the best, they don't half know there curse word!
As for drive, we've cut the Honda driveshafts at the outer cv (there thicker and stronger than the Panda ones) We've cut the Panda ones to length and are in the process of getting them turned down to the same diameter so we can sleeve and pin them.
So were using the Honda inner cv's as they match the gearbox and the Panda outers as they match the hubs! No point making it anymore complicated than that is there!
As an aside, we appear to have lined up 2 grudge races at the pod, the first is against my mate in his 320bhp Scooby (244bhp per ton) which is running mid 14's The second is against a new clio 172 (160bhp per ton) which is running... err... well its french so might not make it the full length. Don't worry though, I think were gonna start in fifth and work our way up the box for this, just to make it fair ;D That or do it in reverse to give him a chance, what with us running 260ish bhp per ton...

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Some thieving traveller curse word scum curse word whore seems to have relieved us of the wiring loom for the engine! Quite why they took only that out of the back of the 'spares' Range Rover and not the engine crane/masses of other stuff that was in there confuses me.
Ah well, not to worry, I guess we'll go to plan B and get some cheap bike carbs (ZZR11 or GSXR11 watercooled) as they seem to be cheap... And possibly megajolt if we can find it cheap enough somewhere..... Fear not though, we shall have it done, fast and within budget, despite these scummy scrotless feckwit curse word setbacks!
Bumholes.

copper wiring is worth good money for scrap at the minute loads of it gone missing from were I work dylan There was a brilliant story in the local paper last summer down where my parents live in Devon. One night, two enterprising young thieves broke into an electricty substation that was having work carried out on it, and stole two large reels of copper cable worth about £3000. They loaded them up into the back of their van and made their escape up Modbury high street. Modbury high street is a rather steep hill, and our two enterprising thieves had not made sure the back doors of the van were securely shut... The two reels were found at the bottom of the hill; the "thieves" were never caught ;D

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

More worryingly we've heard of cable delivery trucks that have been persuaded by a bunch of travellers to drop the stuff off at their yard or have their faces smashed in. Not a hard choice.

A crisis narrowley avoided, thanks to ebay! I guess we're now gonna be running on bike carbs instead 55p (yes, fifty-five pence!) for a set of Honda Fireblade carbs, should be jetted for approx 125-130bhp, so hopefully won't need too much tweaking! cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150187928529

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

IIRC, the LSi's not a Vtec lump but it's a damn fine motor all the same - It's a SOHC 16 valver, just like the Dolly Sprint In fact, I think I remember Lopez saying it's not a VTEC. Who cares anyway, revs like **** and a neat little powerplant. I had an EG LSi - they make 98bhp as standard beautiful engine though - feels so much faster, and quite a 'cammy' feel

If those carbs had been listed as 'bike carbs' they would have gone for a lot more than 55p! You got yourself a bargain there matey.
