Welcome, That really does look retro, 90's retro, not just cos i'm a Fiesta bod, but it does, RST 3 spokes needed, or some mad squared off 3 spokes.

I was thinking of a 30mm drop and a pair of strut brace's then a few tweaks to the CVH and see where it goes from there (wouldn't mind giving it a spanking round the nurburgring though) ;D

Welcome I love these XR2i's, my mate had one and it was a riot! I found myself looking at the prices of them over the weekend, which I shouldn't be doing as I have no cash/space! Very good looking cars actually, nice and nippy too. Sounds like you got a bargain too

then spent a couple of hours with T-cut on the body work And a clean up under the bonnet The inside is 100% standard Not for long though i have a nice momo wheel the fit ;D Car does need a little bodywork but nothing too taxing previous owner had a go but i'll just bin the door and fit another and buy a repair panel for the fuel cap area

Sweet! These cars are a stupid amount of fun. My mate had a black one, had Spax adjustable shocks, fantastically chuckable

Thats sweet! and cheap too! what have you got planned engine wise?

Faster. Faster. Until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.

Bloody internet died on me last night on post attempt, here we go Woo she's looking good Unless you want to keep it original, i'd be tempted to remove skirts, tidy any bublings under there, smooth off bumpers where skirt would join, polish wheels and tuck tyres away, skinnier stickier tyres if need be. Also mesh up a spotlight or two. Whatever happens i'll be watching with interest. Those doors don't come off so easy, if you have any special trick to remove them, please share with me

I'd like to keep the outside standardish was thinking of clear indicators off a later one and someone sells a genuine angel eyes HID lighting system for them (looks like original lamp but with two inside one) The kit will have to come off at some point as we all know what Fiesta's rot like behind their kits But it will go back on and keep the standard wheels as they suit it well. The doors I think come off the same as a MK1 just get a thin drift and pop out the door pins but I need to double check that Engine wise if funds allow it will get a Specialized engines 1.9 CVH but more than likely just get a stage 1 head on the original with a chip, filter and exhaust n manifold looking to lower it 35mm all round and add front and rear strut brace's should be a hoot on the track then

Yeah its a pin job, just teh ones i'm attempting (badly) to get off are a bit stubborn, so a drift would be like a round pointy thing? I'll crack it next time somehow! Complements of bodieanddoyle: flush kit on and bigger wheels

Looks ok actually i wasn't sure how it would look yes a drift i a long pin with a fat head you can lump with a big hammer ;D spray a good dose of WD40 down the pins and leave em overnight then just give them a good clout and the should come out some are easy some are right ****ers to get out.

Nice to see one on here, looking good but I reckon leave the indicators amber, leave the whole kit in place but paint the bumpers, skirts and wheelarch extensions dark grey.
That looks like an Accent MVi parked next to it, they`re a fun tool.

Looks like a goodun, I have a lot of time for 2i's. Lower it a bit stick some cheap 15" on with some really sticky tyres and it will be awesome. IMO a proper old skool hot hatch.
On the engine front if you can't afford a 1900 CVH, go down the ZVH route pick up a cheap 2.0 zetec bottom end and whack a hot 1.6 CVH head on it. It does require a bit of messing about but it worth it!
My mate had an addiction to mk3 XR2i at one point ended up buying 3 in the space of a few months. Quality little cars really raw driving experience then again he did drop it on 60 mm spring, then cut 2 coils off! The thing had no suspension travel handled like a go-kart on an ice rink. Complete nutter. Hes gone off the boil now and brought a Vectra 1.8 16V "needed something sensible" plums IMO!

Sierra - here we go again! He has an illness, it's not his fault.

I think he was trying to cover up the flaking paint on the front bumper but i think i would rather see a little flaking paint than a couple of insulating tape coachlines the light covers met their demise too i set them on fire ;D

Yeah, got a lot of time for these too. Can look mint.

why would an elderly person put light covers on?
Despite that mate its a sweet motor, I have a hankering for the MK2 xr but they are getting very rare esp if you don't want a mangled or rotten one.

Just added these ... Got rid of the shonky airbox which was oily to say the least, cleaned out all the breathers and fitted a universal filter and one to the breather makes it look a little tidier i think ;D
