ran the car at the pod as some did see on saterday before the rrg08.. first time and was great fun I really recommend it!! some problems though... firstly I had really bad wheelspin 2nd gear and was spinning a fair amount of the track! really need stickyer rubber and to weld the diff...! second problem was for some reason in first and second I'm getting a constant 16psi but in third and higher it only holds 5 or 6 psi... quite anoying really cos that is the only gear I could actually get grip and with 11psi std the engine gives 175 std hp so prob only around 150 160 hp getting to the tarmac at 6psi!!!! should be around 280 ish hp at 16psi so I'm down a bit.....
still fun though and best was a 14.7 1/4 @ 93 terminal so not too disapointed... roll on the next rwyb... -and on the cards are a welded diff. -a set of coilovers. (to get it off the bumpstops which might help the traction a bit) -some 15" wellers or banded steals whatever turns up! and put the magnum axle or another shorter axle in so I can get wider rubber under... looking for about 8" under the rear.... thats all for now.. si

Si was it dry on the saturday? Always thought traction was going to be an issue but well done for getting it down the strip - thats not a bad first go!!
I'll give you a bell over the next few weeks - you can take me out for a scare!

Car looked great at the show Si ...sorry I didn't get to speak to you much, hectic weekend and all that You seemed to be enjoying your bucket of booze on Saturday night though Fingers crossed I've secured another Cylinder head for the Sunny... so manifold work will get to begin at some point in the next couple of months (need to get valves sorted for the head first...)

good time on the strip mate, nice work. glad to see some of these conversions giving it hell. shame about the lifter problem. I know of an engine which needs a new bottom end but the guy brought a new s/h lump so the other one is up for grabs if you want me to enquire. Hows your rear axel holding up??

just a quick update:
the oiling up of no3 plug is starting to get very anoying and a smoke screen exhaust is getting worse so my new gaskets have arrived and i picked up a good s/h head yesterday.. that will be going on in the week along with a better boost controller.
and the brakes with warped discs and semi-sezed caliper have had it.. so on with the big brake conversion... redrilled renault 21gtx discs 265mm vented. and modding volvo 240 calipers to fit too. so that should improve the stoppers!! will get some pics up asap... might need bigger wheels soon though. si

ok well my new(second hand) head has been fitted and it goes even better than before. getting 3rd gear wheelspinat about 60mph in the damp...! but its still smokes only on real heavy boost its gerring less the more i drive so hopefully only oil residue in exhaust and intercooler?! ill have to clean out and refit.. the big brake conversion is go! volvo calipers milled out to correct bolt centers and "tophat" bushes made and welded inplace to fit with built in 5mm spacers: caliper half before a clean up milled ot mounts drilled this hole to make a single curcuit system fit tophats weld inplace as i made them single circuit i didnt need both pipe inlets so i blanked off the lower one with, a m8 caphead bolt with the head turned down and threaded(making a grub screw) and a ball bearing locktighted in and finally a paint job new pads and fitting kit. and redrilled renault 21 discs with some goodridge hosing and I'm away !! si
