thats it...ive read this entire thread and ive decided the wagon is getting a CA18DET.
Its just too much power from a small, light unit that ALMOST bolts right into my Datsun.

just use a primera/bluebird box then....
or a gtir and make it 4wd...

oh the wagon....  wiring is not too bad once youve stripped all the not needed wires off its just about 5 wires.... do it!! si |

sr20 IS worth the extra moneys me think now tho! week valve gear though.. and a lot starting to get big end falier now too... maybe they are not so good after all?? prob now they are starting to do bigger milages the faults start to show... for me its do i spend 300 quid on a complete runner doner car ca18det or... over 1000 quid on a sr20 bare and then the wiring,ecu,gearbox,prop, etc etc.. fek it just buy a spare ca18 as a backup and pocket the change tbh i wouldent use a turbo 4 cylinder (unles diesel) for any engine conversion in the future.. a v8 would do a much better job and be more drivable.. si |

I'm not gonna be ragging it around much...just using the extra power to get places quicker. Maybe a few 11's on the road but I'm not gonna be killing it drifting and such like.
in fact....I'm kinda looking for a 200sx auto LOL

they're great engines when they're running right no doubt, its just that when i bought it initially, and started doing some research i came across all the ca18det vs sr20 wars, which i thought was just banter. but after all the messing about just trying to get it to run right, i started believing what people were saying abut them a bit more! i cant say for definate tho because i've never had an sr20!
maybe the 8valve versions are better??

a little update..... painted the bonnet matt white!    keeps the heat away a little and looks ok i think?! not sure if i will paint the top half or even the whole car matt white yet? what do people think?? si |
