hi you all, ive been looking about for some time around here, and I finally got the balderdash to post my own rod on here, mainly because I promised in another thread, but willing to post some more pics along the way , whenever something new gets done to my car. It´s a ´69 Rover P5b, shaved now, blacked out beneath the windowline. chrome Cragar rims, sporting 255-60-15 Generals, awaiting a proper paintjob for the roof, which is gonna be aubergine metalflake, most of the trim removed, apart from the doorhandles, lamprims, bonnetlock, and grille. Still with it´s original 3,5 litre V8 in it, and BW-35 slushbox, original rearaxle, but rebuilt the exhaust, now twin 2" pipes running underneath the car, all the way back, with just flamekillers on both sides, poking through the roll pan. First pic here;-) Let me know what you guys think, will ya? greets, Chris

Well, firstly...... I suspect you could be a Brit...??
Your English is great.
I love that Rover, always liked them standard, but this looks real cool.
Welcome to the cars too.

@ Grizz: Nope, still Dutch , all the way, but i work worldwide, hence the nescessarity to comprehend some other langauges, you GOTTA know English if you´re into Music :-) furtheron, thanks for the compliment on my Rover, it´s not finished by a long way, but, still going on, and altering bits.. The wheelwells have to be widened still, otherwise i won´t be able to get the Dutch APK on it again, about the same as your MOT. Anyway, i will be posting other pics, because what you guys see now is allready after a LOT of work done, totally rebuildt the undercarriage, subframe, exhaust, rear undervalance, and so on... Well, gotta go, but.... I´LL BE BACK !!!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Bought this for SWMBO, as a replacement for her worn down Astra 1.4 It´s an Opel, ´90, Kadett Cabrio, fully stock, different wheels and tyres to come, roof needs mending, but, all in all, a great buy It also comes with a full year of APK, which is the Dutch MOT, and all that at the pricely sum of €350, allmost 270quid..... So, still got the Rover, and the Quattro, thinking of racing the Astra, dropping in a 2.0 litre lump, rollbar, hitting it with the largest stick i can find, and then ovalracing it. Will be continued Greetz, Chris

Hi Chris, sorry for the very late response, haven't checked back my topic for awhile. I think your Rover is awesome! Very cool! Is widening the arches all you'll have to do for the Apk now?
I would like to meet you and the other dutch Retroriders sometime for sure. Little meeting would be great. Oosterhout isn't really close to Groningen unfortunately and my retro's are all under construction at the moment but if you're ever up north just let me know.
Why progress on my cars has slowed down is because of losing my old space and moving myself. I now rent a space in Wildervank and live in Groningen, about 40km apart. Besides that I now have 3 cars and a lot of parts in too small a place, not very pleasant welding on your back on the floor with no room to moveabout. I'm thinking of getting the Amazon welded by a car restorer now so I'll have more space for working. I'ts just very frustrating now.
