It's not a Capri, it's not a Mk3 tina and it's not a Mk1 Granada Coupe - but then you already knew that
This is my Deutsch spec '73 Taunus (torn ). She's pretty much survived the ravages of rust and been brought to England in the early 90s by someone. I've serviced the 2.0-litre cologne V6 and it runs like a dream. It's a 4-spd manual from the factory which is a bit whiny so a 5-spd from a 2.8 Granny is going in. Apart from that it's rock stock factory and will stay that way.
I've had her since last December. Some of you may remember Paul Wakely (ex Practical Classics mag) as he saved this from permanent hibernation. I got Bev from Blue Thunder Transportation (bluethundertransportation.co.uk) to carry it back to my warm garage to start the TLC .

According to a top bloke called David at Old Parts Store in Norfolk (http://www.oldpartstore.co.uk/) this is one of only 5 known in the UK and probably one of three actual runners. It's pretty rare and pretty solid. David sells stuff for all old Fords but loves these and Mk3 tinas. If you need panels and bits he's yer man.
The only rot on the car was the rear o/s inner and outer arch, plus the rear corner. Got the panels from David and had Tim at Road House Retro in Stamford (www.roadhouseretro.com) graft in the new panels then colour match the Daytona yellow cellulose paint and gun it on. The results are great. Didn't want a full resto or repaint as she's a good survivor car that's got character. Besides, I'm too skint with the Impala rebuild and imminent Allegro sleeper project

As of yesterday I took the Torn Anus over to Andy Frost (he of RED VICTOR 1 - the fastest street car in the world - for the conversion from 4-spd manual to 5-spd. Got a good Type 9 box off Nightmares Racing (cheers man) and that should mate with the original revvy 2.0-litre Cologne V6. Andy @ Penn Autos in Wolverhampton (01902 344004) is also doing the brakes (rebuilt calipers, discs etc) and then hopefully she'll be ready to rock for the MoT this week.
More pics soon. Hope you like it. Proper Retro I tell thee.
