Not entirely sure it's retro, but I got this a couple of days ago and have already covered over 300 miles in it!! It's a '90 3.0l 24v jobbie. 4-speed sports box. Great fun and it oozes luxury! Everything inside is made of wood or leather and nearly all the gadgets work. Even the Cruise Control! I'm using it as a stop gap while the Monza has some emergency repair work done It's bags of fun and has the ability to upset some very expensive cars the owners thought were quick! I would seriously like to have the engine out of this for the Monza once the repairs are done. It would be f'kin awesome! ;D A few more pics...

I do like these. Think they have retro appeal as you don't see that many anymore. Probably because so many people have the engines out for other projects... I do believe that the Police were actually cool when they were blasting up and down motorways in these!

Ahhhhhhhh Senators - Love em - 24V engine for all it's faults (excess weight, head gaskets, timing chain issues etc) is still a wonderfull engine to hear on full chat - should be as smooth and crisp as ripping silk - Club chip (you know where to come for that £75 exchange) - Big TB (another club member does them - £45 exchange) - De-cat (another club member does the de-cat pipes and on an H reg you don't need em £35 the pair) And provided it's in good order it should grunt out best part of 220 bhp with a nice strong torque curve Ideal for hunting prey Oh and 225/60 15 tyres help the grip a fair bit too as well as protecting the rims I am of course a fan of these barges ;D

I can't get over how something the size of a small country can move so bloody quickly. It breaks the laws of physics! And with a slushbox too! ColonelK. I remember talking to you at the Beds/Bucks meet last year. Was in the blue Monza and I think you had the White carlton then. Nice to know they are retro. I guess the latest ones are still 13 years old. BC - Haven't looked into the chip or anything like that yet, if I'm keeping the car (or even the engine) then I'll probobly go for that. Gonna run it round first, see if it's got any issues then probably gut it for the Monza ;D Tigs - You know you should've had it! Your face was a picture! 'nuff said!

Nice senator, how are the rear arches though? I'm a great fan of the old sennys but I would prefer a manual myself, you'll find those 3 litre straight sixes like a lot of fuel when you push the go pedal hard but you can make alot of people look very silly in it which more then makes up for it ;D What rear arches...? It's got the ultra lightweight versions as found on most Senators over about 5 yr old! It's not too bad on fuel. It has been put through its paces. Just as a trial you understand! It's round about 5mpg better than the Monza according to the trip computer. Maybe a bit optimistic, but more power and better economy can't be a bad thing!
