My second ride is a Lhasa green Mk1 Golf Gti 1.8
I have recently got this back on the road after 1 year parked up, followed by a years restoration. Again fully stripping replacing all metal worm with fresh steel including new front panel, new rear arches, new front wings, and a new sill. I had 4 months last year to get all of the work done while my parents were away (my current house has no garage). With a few late nights I managed to get it stripped and do all welding it but took another month to get body preped and sprayed, and back to a rolling shell fortunately I have very understanding parents. I've slowly been putting it back together since then, finally getting it back on the road a month ago. The doors still need spraying, and I have plans for the engine, but it's nice to use it again.
I have done all the work myself including welding and spraying. It was the first full respray I'd done, and I'm really happy with the result especially as it's a metallic color, and 2k paint, talk about in at the deep end. Anyway hope you like.
