Hello, I've recently been introduced to this forum, and having registered a couple of weeks back, and liking what I've seen so far, I thought it was about time to share some pics of my rides with you all. Firstly my Minor, it's a 1964 2 door saloon which I bought for £300 when I was 16 with the intention of getting it road worthy and using it as my first car, this turned into a 3 year full restoration, stripping it to a bare shell and replacing all infected metal (and there was a fair amount) with fresh steel. It was then treated to a fresh lick of Old English white 2K paint, followed by the re-build. It was initially put back to near original, but it wasn't destine to stay like that for long, and over the last 7 years it's had the following upgrades. 1275 marina engine 5 Speed Toyota gearbox Marina disk brakes Remote servo Hydraulic clutch Large bore stainless exhaust Telescopic dampers all round Front ARB Poly bushes all round Lowered 1.5" Revolution 5 spoke wheels 205 Gti interior de-badged bonnet Mk1 golf crystal headlights Plus some other minor tweaks. All work inc. welding and spraying was done by my Dad and me in his garage. I hope you all like what you see, although I know from past experience it isn't to everybody's taste, the main thing is I love it. Look forward to meeting some of you at the show in August, check out my other ride 1983 Mk1 Golf Gti retrorides.proboards86.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=readersrides&thread=1184145229&page=1

Mate I reckon that thing is sweet too. You should be proud of it for sure. I'm sure the purists give you dirty looks, but I get the same thing with my Corty. Who cares...... as you say, you love it and at the end of the day that's all that matters. But....... I love it too ;D I'm impressed by anyone that can stuff a much newer car interior into a classic car like that. Good work !!!!

That's a stunner!
Could you lose the adapter and bolt up a Toyota lump (4AGE?) to that gearbox then?
I love the combination of the big, but retro looking Revolutions and the clean straight body in an original colour. Top marks!

Still looking good This is the car that made we want to paint mine Old English White. I think it looks brilliant. I take it that old motor from mine is still going strong then? The pics look like an MMOC rally. Was that this year or previous? Look forward to seeing you at the RR show. Cliff

I'm glad to see yours is progressing well too, I've just had a look at your latest update. I was half expecting to see it at the National, but as I know these things always take longer than expected. We could have done with a few more customs at there. There is a new custom and modified register that has been setup www.custommod.mmoc.org.uk as part of the MMOC so hopefully this should encourage a few more of the people with the nice custom minors that I've seen on this forum to come along. Hope to see you at the RR show, although torn between which car to come in, decisions, decisions.

Thanks for some great comments on Minor, its good to hear the appreciation from like minded individuals. ;D I am hoping to make some more upgrades to the minor in the future, although I have so many ideas for different projects running riot in my head, I may start something completely new. Thats when I'll have to make the difficult choice of getting rid of one of the current pair. This is all a long way off though, as with out a garage it's a dim and distant dream. So just a case of maintenance and small mods at the moment.
