hi all, thought I better introduce myself properly and show you my ride. I'm Nizzer from Doncaster and I own this mk2 golf gti. I bought it roughly 8weeks ago looking like this.
the mahoosive sunstrip didn't last very long
Since then I've added a debadged grille, german style plates, crystal cross-hair headlights, had the front bumper repainted, got a new drivers side wing on and fitted new 60mm lowering springs to replace the knackered old ones.
I'd got the car looking close to how I wanted it apart from the lack of side trims and was getting ready to use it until the week before it was due to be put on the road, our workshop where the car was stored caught fire
Thank God the car was fine, just very sooty inside and out and a melted bee-sting ariel The car is now clean again and looking good (keep forgetting to get new pics ) and will be put on the road next week
Anyway heres the pics.
now matt black instead of gloss
Since these pics I've put on a full stainless exhaust on too.
Also heres my daily, not retro I know but 'retro styled' as Suzuki say ;D
1998 Suzuki Bandit 600
I also have a 4 door mk2 escort as a long term project and may possibly be buying a 205 gti with a 2.0 turbo engine in from a citroen xm i think?
its all good fun
p.s I work at Top Gear Performance in Doncaster where we make up custom stainless exhausts to suit any vehicle. Everything is hand made and we can do pretty much anything you want. If your interested give us a call on 01302 337722 or send me a pm and remember to say youre from RetroRides.
Cheers, Nizzer.
