After starting out my driving adventure with a vaux nova that rusted itself to death and then a pug 106 that blew itself up I moved on to 'proven technology' and bought a mini. I had always wanted a mini and decided I had enough driving experience and money to buy a car worth owning, so, mini #1 was a 1994 mini 35th anniversary edition named Izzy
I loved Izzy for a couple of years until one fateful day I was delivering a present up to a friend of mine and spotted mini #2 at the side of the road for sale and decided I HAD to own it! It was a 1979 minivan, bought with 12" wheels and a 998cc engine in I converted it to the smaller Cooper 'S' brakes and 10" wheels and dropped a 1275cc engine in, thrashed it around for a year or so before moving on...
Unfortunately Meg the minivan needed attention I couldn't afford to give her so it was a choice of either sell her on whilst she was still worth something or drive her into the ground. I sold her and moved on to mini #3, Lola the 1991 Cooper. Lola is a semi-rare 'quicksilver' Cooper and one of the last Coopers to have a carb before they moved to injection...
So there you have it, my retros past and present - who knows what the future will bring.
