tried whacking the light at the mot station and cracked the light...  on the bright side its all fixed and working now I just have to fit the "temporary" rear suspension (although she drives like a dream) and she good to go for a retest already booked for friday! chunderbirds are go!!!!!!!  and aux course you can have a spin...  |

well friday (been on the p*55 since) he finally passed the mot, I still have to reset the rear suspension back to"low" (no pics cos frankly its shocking!!!)
but on monday it will be legal and ready to rumble!!!
personally I'm made up cant wait to drive it legal and everything!!!

went for my first test drive today and it was great fun!..
but..
it seems to be down on power once it warms up it even stalled at one point and nearly didnt restart.. (in heavy traffic typically)
choking it made it a little better... ideas any one?

Great news on the MOT.
Never played with a water cooled one, but the aircooled use to suffer from fuel vapourisation in hot weather, re routed the fuel line away from the hot bits and never had any more problems.

my dads friend (eith some help from his son who runs a catering kitchen out fitting company kindly knocked me up a set of new door panels for the fiat for the princely sum of £15 the pair (note to self-need to tidy up the edging that holds them in)-   much nicer than the moth eaten fibre board remnants previously in there- Ive left em brushed allot at the mo but i think i might have them powdercoated in an orange flake...unless any one else has any ideas? |

I think it was a result of being sat for about 2 years without being driven as I have since given it a few good runs out and its been fine, Ive also fixed the loose exhaust today and took some pics of my helicoil experience for all to see using novice vision to explain how its done- first i removed the back panel of the car-  first we see the offending bolt holes that have no thread what so ever-  this is the helcoil kit from ebay (all you need for about £30  delivered) the holes are drilled then tapped (supplied in the box)-  then you insert the helicoil with the pushy tool-  after breaking off the 'tang' (the metal tab you screw the helicoil in with) you can then use you bolt holes again-  sucess and easy to use the hardest part was getting the back panel on the car again after! |

You couldn't have just tapped the holes out a size larger and used a larger bolt? I could have done but the bolts are in the tiny cylinder head (which is small enough to hold in the palm of you hand) and are close to the exhaust out let and the exhaust mounting bolts and i didnt want to weaken them any more than I had to and damage it.. |

wheel centres finaly arrived these are a pain because they where plastic ones that i wanted to match the chrome powder, my coater reckoned they could do it but it took them 3 months!! however the result was worth the wait and free because of the wait hope you like hope to fit them tommorw cos its to cold to do it tonight-  |
