Well as promised here's a couple of taster piccies of my freshly restarted tramp drifter, it got kind of postponed when I bought the hearse 18months ago. So, friday night we drag it back the 35 or so miles where it was stored, Had a puncture on the car trailer on the way back, shredded tyre, no spare, no wheel brace, 11.30pm! Anyways, here it is, in the garage again finally Bought some wheels for it on Saturday, wanted to get banded steelies for it but got quoted £300, which I suppose ain't bad. Luckily some one came up trumps with a set of these for £80 ;D Bit scabby, so I'm gonna satin black em when I do the car. Just gotta do a bit of welding, then a mate's gonna wire this up for me More pics as it happens, hoping to get it on the road in time for the Powderham car show in 3 weeks time

Lurvely, has he wired in one of these before? If not, take a look on my website as there are a few clues in there. Scroll down to the Cortina section. I can't remember how far I got with the wiring bit on the website but if anything is missing then give me a shout. The link is in my sig.

Progress report New arch in Inner wing/sill end repair completed and bit of wing back on, got carried away and removed all the rubbing strips and welded the holes up. Exhausts sorted, gone under the axle and done away with the back boxes Mate reckons to put a chequered roof on it while I've got the satin black spray can out, all black, satin chequers on a gloss roof? RobinXR4i, looking for a slipper but it's gotta be cheeeeeeap, this one's on a shoestring . Might still weld the non slipper up, depends what turns up.

Hooray, it lives ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Mate came over Thursday, wired it up and at half midnight I went for my first blast up the road Massive thanks to Smiler without whose assistance with wiring diagrams and notes we wouldn't have known where to start, sorry for not replying to your emails. (had internet issues for a couple of weeks ) So, with a few snags ironed out, (1 of the wheels 295grams out of balance , broken pipe on heater matrix and resulting wet carpet, non functioning fuel gauge, iffy fuel pump, burst fuel pipe next to ex manifold , power steering fluid leak from union i'd forgotten to do up ) it was in for mot Saturday morning and................. IT PASSED ;D ;D *breathes massive sigh of relief* It's so much fun, and quicker than i'd expected, (indicated 80mph on the limiter in 2nd!) Sideways, sideways, bucketloads of torque. I've put coilovered gaz sierra legs with capri hubcarriers on the front and 2" blocks on the back. Should at RR in it too ;D

Sorry to answer for him............... it a Ford Granada engine. 2.9 24v V6 they all have around 200 bhp, and were designed in collaboration with cosworth. Hence the cosworth badge on the back of some granada. More info........... www.fordscorpio.co.uk/24valve.htmPopuptoaster is a sourse of 24v knowledge too ;D

yeah, as Robin says 24v Granny Cossie motor, 200 bhp, 203lb/ft. It's the torque that makes these engines great, it'll pull a house down! Not sure how much the capri weighs, 1- 1 1/2 tonnes maybe? Torque means you can trickle around on tickover and it'll still pull no matter what gear you're in
