Blimey, never even realised that they did a 17 na! I had a 19 TGD a few years back - lovely car although the TGD always made me think "TurGiD!"
Oh and happy birthday BX! 25 years old! Not bad for a car designed originally to be a Volvo.

Just to be a Taupe coloured anorak that also unzips into a bodywarmer - arent they Saxo Desire wheeltrims?
Are you painting the bumper? it looks good in black, they were never like that originally, were they?

Indeed they are Saxo wheeltrims, the only other ones I have are TR trims, which look a bit pants. The front bumper will be returned to Olympic Blue eventually. We only had time to paint the back one last week.

Very nice despite the boggo-ness, you've got me looking at BXs on eBay. I don't quite understand Peugeot/Citroen diesel engines, why did they have n/a and turbo-charged versions of both the XUD7 (1769cc) and XUD9 (1905) with practically the same horsepower?

Dunno about na but the turbo engines have quite a difference. 73 to 90 I think in the bhp stakes. Only a few BXs got the 19 Turbo lump though towards the end of production.
They are very capable and comfy cars - used to love playing traffic light roulette - pull up, drop the car down low and hope it comes back up before the lights turn green!

Learn't to drive on a BX19RD. My dad then had a 17DTR which covered 435,000kms...still on it's original clutch. It had a terrible oil leak for the last 100,000kms; meant the oil was basically topped up once a week (500kms travel) actually it was pretty much an oil change.
