Hello nice RR people
Having lurked and spied on everyone else's rides I think it's about time I declared my interest! I'm without anything even remotely retro at the moment which is thoroughly rubbish, but have managed to get through four minis and a Land Rover over the last six years, so I thought I'd share some photos of the cars I wish I hadn't sold...
So, first up, 1982 Mini something-or-other-lost-in-the-mists-of-time, badly sprayed BRG with some fatboy bonnet stripes and a white roof. Chromed up to the eyes and running the ubiquitous 998. Had some funky 70s alloys which I variously think are Slotmags or Wolfrace... Sold early 04.
The wheels in question - suggestions as to identity?
Next, a 1987 Mini Advantage resprayed in Surf Blue. White roof, more chrome etc etc. Distressingly standard interior but it did have 5 Minilites and a demonic DTM exhaust. Sold it (forced by parents who rudely bought me a 2003 Polo) in early 05.
(There were two other Minis but they were largely parts bins...)
Finally, this actually belonged to my dad but I took it to Uni where it proceeded to fall apart. I think it knew that I didn't have any money or space to work on it and decided to mutilate itself in various expensive ways. Had to sell it end of 06.
Aaaanyway, as bought. 2.25 Petrol Series 2a, bog standard and seemingly parked in a bog for much of it's life.
And a few months later after a healthy dose of hammerite, carpets, replaced wiring and a dodgy old mini spotlight grafted into service as a loading light to the rear.
So that's my lot. Now I'm retro-less and sad.
