had a bit of bother with the car on saturday.i was on my way up to warwickshire to collect a 6 point cage i got for it on the bay all was going fine till just before south mims services when i noticed the temp had crept up a little so pulled in the check it and it dumped the water all over the car park  so we popped in for cuppa while it cooled down , anyway refilled all seemed fine and we just put it down to it just hadn't been used for a long trip for a while and off we went . all was going fine till all of a sudden it started making a real loud clatter and loosing power temp was ok as was oil pressure but the car was slowing down fast so we pulled over to the hard shoulder to investigate  opened the bonnet only to find a bit of steam coming out of the overflow but nothing other than that even the clatter had stopped . we let it cool for a couple of mins and tried again car started fine and off we went about 2 miles further on agin the clatter worse this time dipped the clutch and it died so coasted up the slip road for chorlleywood and pulled off the road . verious angree words were thrown at the car and i tried to start it few times but no luck so admited defeat and called the RAC who came out and low loaded it back home rolled it off the lorry and off he went . i had to get the car in the garage so thought i'll just try starting it one more time pressed the starter and it fired first time no clatter or fuss so i put it away in the garage more confused than ever  . anyway we jumped in the p100 and went up and collected the cage in that instead .  the car is still running fine with no symptoms at all other than a slightly leaky water pump but if i get some time over the weekend i'll strip the heads off it to investigate |

Car looks great. It'll be either the pump or the stat going on my past experience with Fords. I got round this by buying a Ford with no pump and no stat ;D
For some reason the pumps go when you don't use them.

Thats a Bu**er You should have called me, I`m in Warwickshire all week - I`d have picked the cage up for you and brought it back down in the van with me  Hope you get it sorted and its nothing too serious |
