Nice retro rides Had a few grifters in my younger days, did Raleigh somehow invent BMX with the grifter before BMX's really made it ? i know they are more like cruisers but chunky tyres and a durable frame and big wide bars and big seat is all a kid needs you don't even get a wet ass!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Grifters are the Shiz - Is that an XL with metal guards? Mine was black with red guards. Also had a Striker (sort of small Grifter) and a Bomber which noone else had. It was green with fake plastic forks. No matter what we did on those bikes they NEVER broke! Raleigh ruled the world in 1985!
BTW I have never been able to wheelie better than I did on my Budgie, nothing could beat it!

super jealous of the burners and the lowriders !! I'm currently trying to build a lowrider-style bike to go with a polo that I've just acquired. Do you know of any lowrider forums so I can get some inspiration/information ? I also have an 80's Joe Waugh road bike and a Fly Pantera bmx.

Not quiet retro (But different) My other half and I have a tandem and it was getting very tatty Tandem looked like this (stripped down) Needed a refurb Frame shot blasted and powder coated (like I'd do anything else) New chains cables etc etc Started putting it together yesterday - had to go to Diss to pick up some parts but finished 5pm ready to cycle 5 miles to watch "Van Morrison" in the forest - didn't put a foot wrong 30 mins to get there 25 mins to get home  (5 miles but some big hills) Anyway what it looks like now it's finished PS Note cat in picture is alive and well - just stupid!!!

since everyones so exited about these, heres a couple of aussie specials i own. first 2 are Hustler Custom SS's not how much of a cooler name for a bike can you get then that? last one is a Myer Speed, same as a Malvern Star Dragster, this is an extra long frame, 21", the longest i have heard of on a standard p[roduction frame.
