this is my latest accidental purchase. I wasnt looking for a celica supra, didnt really know they existed, but I know not to turn down a rwd car with LSD for next to nothing
this is what my cash netted me-
only bit of welding needed (THIS IS NOT MY WELDING!!! its the previous guy who did it, I need to redo it properly)
cobra manaco seat, securon harness, momo wheel-
seat and harness need remounting though.
horrible roof scoop, ile be pulling that off and burning it.
drivers side door and front wing are badly dented, got put sideways into the tyres or summat apparently
you cant really see properly in the pics, but its also got a bolt in 6 point cage.
these cars are pretty sweet from the factory, high spec leccy everything, leccy sunroof, rear wiper, leccy windows, cruise control, PAS, air con, etc.
none of it is of any interest to me though, but the 175 hp, 5 speed manual box, 4 wheel discs and 3.88LSD are though
basically, its suffered a bit at the hands of a knobhead wonnabe drifter, the modifications hes done are bloody terrible, and ile have to sort out everything hes done.
I mean, that roof scoop, wtf was he thinking?!
hes also 'added to' the cage with bits of stainless exhaust tube, but thankfully he couldnt weld for wibblepoo and itll all be easy to sort.
hes also bolloxed the wiring up by fitting a switch/button start setup, which ive redone, ive gotta keep it though cos hes knacked the stock ignition switch and wiring.
he'd half gutted the interior, ive been carrying on with this and itll soon have everything removed except for the dash top, gauge cluster and binnacle. once ive unbolted everything I can, ile start scraping off the sound deadening.
aforementioned goon had also thrown away some of the external rub strips off the doors, so ive removed the rest and be welding up the holes. same goes for the sill trim, and the mudflaps, to clean up the lines and make the arch extensions more pronounced.
to further the weight saving, ive also removed the heater matrix and its housing and all the ducting, and the entire non-functioning A/C system. loss of A/C will also give the motor a little power back, which will be further increased when I ditch the viscous fan and the PAS. it should be a honest 200hp then, rather than the 175 with all the tat driven off the motor.
theres lots of interesting (and fairly cheap) suspension, motor and brake mods available for these cars too....front coilovers for £100, strut inserts for the same. i could get a really nice coilover suspension setup all round and fully polybush the whole car for £500+ shipping.
ive got a bit of welding to do, a little more wiring(including my headlight issue), replace a couple of tyres, then I can get it MOTed and on the road.
I plan to use it for trackdays and to maybe try drifting as ive not had a proper go at it yet, but I need it to be road legal to get to the track.
