Hi Folks,
Just found this forum, What have I been missing - ain't it good, although I kinda wish I had not found it in a way - it could slow my WTF Volvo project down even more.
So here my old road legal 1996 Volvo V90 estate just upgraded from 2 years on the road and the last one stuck in my workshop being fitted with a full cage and fabricated back end.
Engine is currently a 355Ci Chevy,272 comp cam,Holley 750cfm vacum secondary,Dart 2 ported heads,Victor junior inlet,TH400 box with B&M ratchet shifter and 2400 stall converter, Ford 9 inch rear axle (out of 8.5 sec car) with 3.25:1 locker diff for road and a 4.56:1 diff on a spool for the strip mounted on protech shocks and fully adjustable rose joint 4 bars, wheelie bar mounts are fitted but I will probably never need them, (brackets on the axle has been altered regards scrub lines etc from the trial set-up in the early picture) also present is a NOS dual cheater/powershot system and minimax controller, full MSD 6AL/BTM ignition,Autometer gauges, black anodised Prostar wheels, road tyres are 225/50/15 front, BFG drag radials 325/50/15 rear and a pair of 15x15 slicks when required/frustrated to get the times down, vented discs all round, lifeline electric plumbed in extinguisher,Aeromotive fuel pump,Holley pump for n20,Stainless large port headers onto a 3inch crossover exhaust system, aluminum cells for Jaz fuel cell, battery and fuel pumps all anodised silver.
A new strong Chevy small block with H beam rods, forged blower pistons, steel crank, aluminum heads, roller rockers, blower cam, new GMC 6/71 blower with twin 650 Holley blower carbs and fabricated Kuhl scoop (that has been anodised black to cause less attention!)is going in eventually when re-checked and dynoed.
Sorry - the large stainless exhausts are a bit of a P**S take that satisfies my sense of humor as does dealing in antique furniture and the choice ofmy old faithfull Volvo estate as a project
BUT later with the blower 300+ bhp through each side should easily be achieved.
Should be a cheap budget supercar thats afraid of corners and can only haul triangular chests of drawers.
Pictures are a few weeks old - The lids on the boxes in the second picture above of the interior Fuel cell, fuel pump and battery box look wonky because the are only placed on loose and not bolted down - before anyone comments about them being P****d up.
