Currently driving a '68 Karmann Ghia as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

That is looking fabtastic mate. I achieved a similar look with my Herald, but the rust frightened me away... Keep up the good work (love the contrast of the orange wheels )

I seem to be working on a fix a problem, find a problem basis with the Tiki mobile at the moment.having just about got it back together for Uxbridge I nearly did'nt make it thanks to major over heating problems due to a leaky heater matrix and perished hoses.a calasping bearing caused some concerns on the way too. today I desided to sort the coolant problem and mock up a auxillary rad system using an MG heater matrix as a guinea pig. the fitment went pretty well until I powered up the system for a test run.at this point the top hose on the rad gave out.I shortened it and tried again with early sucess.then the bottom hose started to trickle then gush...... having shortened it I went for a blast.the temperature stayed ok,it was circulating coolant and all seemed well so I returned home with a smile until.....while it idled on the drive it suddenly let go of all its water from somewhere behind the engine! I ran out of time to tinkle anymore today but,I'm hoping its not the head gasket this time. the mock up seems to work well, its the other end that needs work.see below for pictures. other work done pre-Uxbridge...... for anyone considering a bare metal look,I discovered along the way that less is more.I'm pleased with the finish overall though the best bits are where I have'nt had the time to try so hard for a regular finish.for the best finish in my opinion for anyone going down this route, firstly grind off the paint with a brush attachment, leave for a couple of days,go over it again with the brush, next rub over with some medium wet'n'dry then just laquer it.the metal is changing under the laquer and giving an allover finish off its own. great pictures taken at the show by Seth and the Bazzateer, thanks ;D

I'm still yet to see the Tiki mobile and meet Mr Tiki himself, very dissapointing Car is looking awesome though! Love the roof Hats off to you Frank for your antics at the national,I had hoped to be there, hence the Heath Robinson style matrix on the front.it was intended to boost the cooling for the 260 mile journey to Yorkshire.what with a blocked oil filler cap, perished pipes and a calapsed wheel bearing I was'nt going around the block let alone across country! I have hidden the matrix in the airbox now,it seems to be working well now that I have sorted the other issues.looks like its game on for the ACE on tuesday.you going?

Glad it's looking better for you and the Tiki-mobile Bryan . Not sure if I'll be able to get to the Ace tomorrow due to work commitments and the on-going work on the Imp cooling system. If I can get there, I will. Baz

While doing some sorting out I found this in an old diary from 2003! my co-pilot is my Bull terrier Maverick, seconds after this was taken a marshall tapped on the roof and promptly wished he had'nt.I think what Maverick said to him was ''mind the paint'' only it was in Bull terrier! ;D

I just found this photo on Flickr: "Found myself taking an incorrect turn today, but in doing so stumbled across this rather unusually decorated Hillman Super Imp dating from 1967. The actual model was fairly unusual, for a British car at least, in having the engine at the rear and the boot at the front. But unfortunately, it didn't sell as well as the Beetle.... Chertsey, 16th September 2008. " ;D
