Remember this from wuvvums fleet thread? Well its mine now! It needs a lot of work (bodywork) and I havent decided yet if I am going to commit myself to doing it. Cool car though.

Very nice looking motor, albeit a little rough. Ideal motor for your collection though.
Quick question about your A-frame. How does the chain go around the lower arms, do you wrap it around once before the ratchet straps are attached.

the legs of the a-frame each have a vertical peg sticiking up 2" or so. The chains are attached to the tops of these - the pegs butt up againt the car's lower wishbones, you hook the chains round then lead them back (forwards) to the ratchets. Then you tighten up the ratchets and the chain pulls tight round the lower arm, clamping it solidly against the vertical pegs.

Excellent work, was worried about the fate of this one. Hope it makes an Alfa 75 style comeback.

That's such a quality combination, Audi 200 Turbo and Mitsubishi Sigma estate. What engine is in the Sigma, is it a 2.0 six?

A rasping 2.0 four! a bit characterless like all these old bread and butter J motors, but it ought to drag the sigma wagon along oK. 5-speed box too. ANyone know what the power output is of this engine? I know the 2.6 four is a thumping 102bhp so i'm not expecting much!

Well, I'll get my research hat on, in Japan this model was known as the Mitsubishi Galant Ó (Ó being "Sigma" in the Greek alphabet). Yours is the third generation model and has 105ps (103hp). I would guess the 2.6 is one of those things strangled for emissions. Here are two of the most dull Japanese adverts ever made, note the square lights, wonder if we got facelift ones like that: Official history off here including specs: www.mitsubishi-motors.com/corporate/museum/products/1970/e/popup/021_galantsigma.html

Well, it was meant to come out as a Sigma symbol, but didn't. Think of it as a "funny E" instead of a weird O.

Great looking ride. You should do something with it, it definitely has the potential to be something really special.

You won't be using that 2-litre engine and 5-speed 'box for a bit. You know it makes sense to let it run free and have fun in a beige Galant saloon...
It is a lovely old thing, elegant lines much better than 180B wagon of the same era.
Well saved!

Yep, GH is the next generation which got slightly more exciting adverts where a man drives a really awkward route to the docks then gives a thumbs up to a dog:

Question going out to all Sigma gurus worldwide: How much commonality is there between these sigmas and the later datsuncherry-shape Galant? Are they the same basic structure? That 'Warny' panel company sell sills and door bottoms for these cars (not cheap like!!!), do we think they will fit on my Stigma?

actually looking at those pics theres not much commonality is there. The doors have a totally different profile for a start.
