Here are my two 'small Scimitars' . I bought the SST around Christmas after selling my V8 GTE. The Sabre arrived last weekend sort of by accident while I was looking for a cheap RWD sports car for someone else. ;D The SST 1.8Ti:    The Sabre:   The Sabre is pretty high mileage and is going to need a respray once I get the list of small faults sorted out. The SST needs a suspension and brake upgrade before I start trying to get more power.  |

I'm sure he's posted the pictures on here. He's got some V8 TR7's too. |

I never knew there was a Sabre later on. I remember these restyled Scimitars coming out, they got a fair bit of good press for looking better than the previous SS1, which I thought looked pretty good anyway (But then to a 7 year old in the `80s anything with pop-up lights and red paint looks good)
Sabre reminds me of a mini TVR 420 SEAC.

It's taken an age but I've completely rebuilt the front suspension on the SST:  New Superflex bushes, new upper and lower wishbones (strengthened in case I want to go to coilovers at a later date), new balljoints and track rod ends, new droplinks, new disks, pads and calipers. Just waiting for the Gaz shocks to arrive. The Sabre will probably be for sale shortly as I can't justify the two cars (as well as my two kit cars), but it looks like I may already have a buyer for it. |
