Hiya all...just thought I'd introduce myself, and my new project...[first project actually... ]...!!! I'm Swampy and this is my 1962 Mk2 Ford Zodiac which I bought approx 4 weeks ago... ;D...not going to be too much to it for a while as I'm saving to get my drive/hardstanding done out the front of the house, and am saving to buy a MIG welder and compressor [and build a compressor "house" for it to live in, which can be soundproofed a bit to try and help the neighbours....] Would love to shove a 302 in at some point but for now it is concentrate on getting it all solid and ship-shape, the straight six runs smoothly so it will suffice for the time being, but am hoping to take the whole car down the 50's/60's Streetrod look, lower it a bit [but not too much as we have alot of speed bumps round our way....]...and enjoy it as much as is humanly possible...idea is to have a rolling restoration/project...so it is on the road during the warm months and work on it during the cold ones...fingers crossed anyhow...but cannot see it being road-legal till Spring 2008...anyhow here it is.... ...we love it to death...did from the moment we saw it....

Thanks folks... ;D...now to answer some of the questions... ...1] Where did it come from...Wandsworth in London, bought it around a month ago now. ...2] Why not road legal now...sills are shot and need replacing for MOT, plus the ever reliable [sic] vacuum wipers do not work properly...probably replace with an electric set-up. ...Darren that Zephyr looks loveeeerly dude...so whats the plans to replace the six then dude...are we going V6 or V8... ...again thanks for the nice posts folks...I'll keep you all up to date once the work starts...but first its build the raised drive and the compressor "house" so that I can "tool up" properly for the build. Safe journeys all, Swampy

nice car. It looks familiar to me too. I think it may have been in a magazine even. Funky number plate also looks familiar. If I get time I'll pile back through all my early 80s Street Machines... Top car, good luck with it. Keep the swing shackles!

Top car, good luck with it. Keep the swing shackles! ...that would be superb dude...am desperately trying to get some history behind the car...the previous owner had it for about 4 years or so, part from that unknown...and yep the number plate is pretty funky, but reckon I am going to go back to rectangular ones as opposed to the square ones it is sporting now...but that really is the least of my worries...lmao...!!!
