picked up from Bath for £100 just before christmas, warned of leaking head gasket, got home without missing a beat but with only 1L of oil left in it, turned out bottom end not top at fault, engine dumped, mk3 GT picked up for £75, took my time swapping everything over cos its the biggest job i've had to do (more or less) on my own, gotta fit a mk1 golf clock set now, polo clocks only got to 100mph when I bought it..... picasaweb.google.com/JenniferNewman/Car_PolocoupeSstill gotta drop it 60mm (kit already sourced from Germany), decide on which set of alloys i'm gonna go with and then sort out any niggles before the MOT runs out in June. more up to date pics to come.

These little Mk2 polos are ace - worst mistake i made was chopping mine in for a rover metro! Looking forward to seeing it stick'd and rim'd.

Ooooooh it's got hockenheim alloys - nice tried for ages to get a set for mine and in the end settled for MKI golf GTi alloys

Mine was a lot of fun for a first car but they're really terrible - the carb's are nightmare to get running properly, they rust - everywhere, the steering has geometry that changes over bumpy roads (i.e. goes all over the place) and they're badly built. But it's nice to see a clean, original-looking one, especially on Hocky' alloys.
