Hi folks Bought this last night. 118k, MoT until Dec, tax until Sep, half a tank of fuel too! Has issues which I'd like your advice on. Pulls to the left - guessing this is just tracking. On a long run, the left hand front tyre gets warmer than the right hand so I'm guessing that the problem is nearisde? Also, CV joints are beyond shonky. Clickety Click, 66. Proper bad. So, how do I change them?

Well, first plan is to get some kurust on the scuzzy wheelarch and then apply plenty of "Banger Glue" (Gaffer Tape) so it is out of sight, out of mind (until December at least!). Is going to end up looking a right scuzzy beast!

Your 'pulling problem' (never been a problem for me, arf arf) could be a sticky brake caliper, specially if one side is getting hot. Check the tyre pressures too and maybe try swapping the rear tyres onto the front, see if it goes away, if it does it could be a tyre with a dodgy casing.
In my experience tracking problems rarely cause a 'pull' as even if one track rod end is a mile out, the steering just evens up the difference as you drive and both tyres wear equally.

Ta xbollox. You'll be able to laugh at it tonight! The tyre was warm but the wheel itself was cool. Apparently, that side did have a sticky caliper but was repaired. I'll get the wheels in the air at some point and see how well the wheels spin.

Seriously your body rust does nott look too bad, a few weekends of TLC with sand paper, filler, and paint may see it looking nice again, meaning you may even be able to sell it to some picky first car person when ya done too

Er, the rust is quite bad. I wouldn't recommend pulling on the LH rear wheelarch as it seems quite likely that most of that section of bodywork will come off in your hand! That said, it had some sill welding for MoT so must still be reasonably solid.
Cambelt is a worry. Haven't got a clue when it was last changed. Certainly not in the last seven years or 40,000 miles. Perhaps I'll just wait for it to go bang and then chuck a VTEC in...
