Hey guys! I'm new on here - signed up today! Got an email this morning off a friend, who said someone has seen my car on another forum and really liked it, apparently they said I should join up on here - so here I am!
Right, my ride is a '73 Hillman Imp. Bought in September '03 for £900, basically since then spent over £5K on it. she is now, as you see her here. Modifications include;
1) Full bare metal respray from faded red/almost pink to 'new vauxhall astra white' on top, and VW 'Mars' red on the lower half. Color scheme works quite well actually!
2) Custom designed and made myself the sunstrip "Made in Scotland - Refined In England' (Looks ace!)
3) Full set (Including rears!!) half leather Recaro interior, modified to fit the Imp - EXTREMELY comfortable!
4) Genuine 1960's 13" Minilite alloys black/chrome
5) Sat on Monte srpings and Woodhead shockers, sporting Goodridge s/steel braided hoses and new Fiesta XR2i Disc conversion and 0.7 master cylinder conversion - done away with drums.
6) Sport engine lid for that extra cooling!
7) Mountney steering wheel, Rev counter and 12V cig socket so I can use my sat nav!
8) Engine - The bottom end is from a Talbot Sunbeam 930cc, then modified to take Imp head, which is a late L4, sport cam, great set of CD125 Strommies, New 100,000 mile K&N's, extra weird/wide manifold 4-2-1 going to Peco straight through back box, oil cooler, new water pump, uprated new 4 core Imp rad, alternator conversion and competition doughnuts/shafts.
9) Just had brand new clutch too, and gear box!
10) Had my bumpers re-chromed, and added rear bumper number plate lights
11) Consequently - she is now rapid! and looks good with it too!
Cant think of much more, ooh missing a small badge at the front that says 'IMP', VERY hard to get hold of.
Currently fitted, since pictures, door mirrors and just got some original rear Imp mudflats - will look the dogs!
Take it easy
Lee
(CANT INSERT PICTURES - don't KNOW HOW, SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE??)
