I did take it back to the rolling road, only she has developed yet another problem which she didnt have before.
Sometimes (its obly done it 3 times) she doesnt run well at all, hiccups and backfires and stalls if the revs drop. Fine on full throttle but on part throttle its all over the place.
so she went on the rolling road (me not knowing it had started doing this) and did end up getting more - 178 hp at the fly and a whopping 225 ft/lb of torque. Impressed with the torque tbh.
But the curve was all over the place and the guy said it was pinging so he stopped. We ran it and it was dog rough on part throttle so I took her home and cleaned up the contacts on the TPS and MAP sensor and messed about and hey ho, she ran perfectly again.
Shes done it again since and I cant find out what it is. But I now want to get her back on the RR again to see if shes doing any better than when she was running roughly
Perhaps I'll get her on at RR show just to see if it affected anything (assuming she doesnt start doing it again
)
I was going to put some pics up of my wheels but just realised I don't have them.
I've sprayed the spokes hammerite black and left the rims (scabby sort of silver that a previous owner must have sprayed them)
I then had a crazy notion of spraying the rims body colour white, so set about that on monday. However, it went very badly indeed and left me with one really bad front wheel with a white rim and 3 ok ish wheels with silver rims.
The white rim blobbed and ran and peeled with the masking tape etc. Just not very good at all.
so had to strip that one back down to bare metal, gonna give the rim a coupla coats of alluminum paint to try to match the 3 others, then re do the spokes black.
Trying to source another set of wheels so Ican do it properly and polish the rims but they are hard to get hold of.
so if anyone sees it at RR and thinks one of the wheels is a terrible match...
