Can't see that myself....Ritmo's a bigger car for a start. Would have competed with the Golf. I respect the Polo, but it's just slightly too conservative for me when compared to the best French & Italian equivalents though. It's more interesting than the MkI Golf cos of it's rareity.
I do love the MkI Passat though, especially the late 70s facelift! Certainly features in my top ten!
Infact if I were to ever increase my fleet with another old interesting vehicle, top contender would be a late 70s Passat 5 door hatch. In contention would also be a Renault 20 or Chrysler Alpine. I sense a long sloped rear hatchback theme here! ;D
