Thought i'd stick a few pics of my big project and current car up: First is my '61 ford 100e thats been an ongoing project for about 6 years. Not done much to it for the past 2 years as i'm living away at uni, but will get cracking on it again soon. I had a very tuned twin turbo SOHC V6 out of a Ford Explorer to go in it, but i'm not using that anymore. Will probably bung a Cossie or Volvo engine in it. My latest car: Not really that retro was only built in 1988. Its a Volvo 360 GLT saloon. Tis the usual one elderly owner jobby, 75000 miles. Mainly mint but theres a few spots of surface rust that i've sanded down, and it needed a new wing as somebody crashed into it and it rusted. I've got a 2.3 turbo engine out of my old 940, which although the low boost (4.5psi ffs I could blow into a pipe harder than that turbo) model is the most tuneable. Currently winging its way from america is a t4 turbo and flange. Also got a better head coming from a 740 turbo that will be ported & polished. That little lot should be good for ~385bhp. Plans for the rest of the car are to cut the front springs and fit some 3" lowering blocks and panhard rod at the rear. Once the engine is in i'll go from there with the suspension and brakes as they're very good anyway. Will probably end up 5 linking the rear. The wheels will be sets of the various 13" deep dish alloys I have knocking around. Got ally cats, minilites, revos and appliance slot mags so plenty to choose from. I'm re-drilling the hubs to 4x108 later today so I can fit em all. Anyway pics of how it is at the minute Worst Side Lots of Room for big intercooler Minted interior Cool mini lip spoiler (may be replaced by bird bath or ducktail type spoiler depending on what look I go for with the rest of the car) Big boot (room for nitrous bottle? ) and dead bodies Thats it. My list of previous cars and cars I currently own is pretty long. I also currently own A Hillman Husky Morris Minor Another 100E Capri 2.8i shed And my recent car list Mk1 Clio 16v S1 106 Rallye with cammed GTi engine Rover Coupe Turbo Renault Clio 1.2 (now my brothers lol) Sierra XR4x4 Sierra XR4i Cortina Mk5 Estate 3 100es Renault 21 turbo Matt

Funny, I was just thinking the other day about getting a 360GLT and dropping a 940 Turbo engine in it - I wasn't going to go as far as you though, I was thinking more in the order of 180-200bhp.
Like the 100E too - I just recently sold a 100E Prefect. Nice car to drive but it had the standard sidevalve engine and 3-speed box so was dog slow.

Tuning the B230FK's out of 940s isn't expensive at all. Gonna have cost me about ÂŁ800 altogether for a rebuilt 385bhp-ish. The standard bottom end is good for 400bhp, with steel rods & pistons lots lots more lol.
Standard 100es are horrid to drive no wonder theres so many custom ones.

Ooh... small world! ;D Project 360 sounds fun, so I guess you've got a nice late B230FK with oil squirters and 13mm rods? What are you going to do with the transaxle? Junk it and fit a front mounted gearbox and live axle, or baby it? It wont like the low rpm torque that a 385bhp engine is likely to produce! You going to use MSnS? For 180-200bhp, you'd not need to swap in a 940 lump atall. Take the bolt on parts from a 940 and the stock late (lower comp) B200E, and fuel it with MegaSquirt and you'll be well away to that level. The difficulty in the engine swap is not atall the physical components - it's the wiring, the 940 LH2.4 loom looked a nightmare when we started taking one apart. If you can put up with a more3 antiquated FI system, a 740TIC injection loom is seperate to the car....

Saw your username on here too Steve.
Plan with the transaxle is to weld the diff up and fit fairly narrow tyres, then drive it and see what goes bang. Gonna uprate the torque tube to start with I think and thats it.
Once I'm sure that the engines up to scratch i'll try and find a better gearbox. Might look into modifying a renault 21 transaxle to fit or alfa gtv6 like I said on volvoclub
Matt
Gonna use megasquirt yeh unless I come into some cash to fit an emerald ecu.

They're Sierra 14" steelies lol only to roll it around on, they're off a burnt out car so the tyres are buggered. I've got various wheels to fit it now lol i've got a bit of a deep dish fetish. Not sure what other websites its on, it was on www.uk-hotrods.co.uk and www.ppcmag.co.uk. I'll get pics of the husky when I next go to the unit where I store it. The body is a minter, running gear is buggered tho. Have you got the pop sorted Jonny? I don't get to read the ukhotrods group very often as the mail goes to my home computer. The vulva should be pretty funny to drive i've just finished building a 320bhp C20LET mk4 astra for a mate so i've got that to beat in it. Should do it easily the astra spins the wheels in 5th, handles like curse word aswell lol. Matt

Nah the pop failed the MOT on kingpins and a joint on the steering draglink I missed. I'll resurrect the thread on here when it passes in a few weeks.

Quick update Got a good 2nd hand wing from a fellow 360 owner. Flatted it off and primed it and gave it a test fitting Then took both wings back off and got on with rustproofing the inner arches and inside of the wings. Stuck the wings back on and you can see a bit of the pink paint so that will need sorting Stuck a comedy cone filter on it I had in the shed. Sounds OK tbh was quite suprised. I brought my wheels back from home aswell. They're 8x13 compomotive CX's not ally cats as I remembered them lol. Plenty of dish Quick one of spencer the dog driving lol Gonna whip the struts out today and work out what lowered springs I can use on em. Matt

Lowered the front at the weekend. I chopped 2 coils off the springs, will see how much it settles then maybe cut some more off not sure. Gonna have a go at the back next saturday. It doesnt look much lower in the pics but they were taken just after i'd put it back together. Its settles loads more since think I'm gonna have to do some inner arch surgery. Matt
