Right, I'm new to reto rides, been messing about with 300's since I learnt to drive, first one was a 340 1.4DL with some minor modifications...
When it failed its MOT I decided to upgrade to the "top of the range" 360glt. Needless to stay it didnt stay standard for longer than 24 hours. Wheels got swapped over from the 340 and sprayed gunmetal, harnesses and seats were swapped along with a few other small bits and pieces..
Next I made some lowering blocks and chopped down the front springs, added a sunstrip and meshed the front grill
Nice height comparisson...
After going to "driftschool" for my birthday last May I decided I definately wanted to get into the sport and went about making the car "drift ready". The diff was welded and all the interior stripped including all soundproofing...
I then painted it all matt black to tidy it up and stop any reflections that gloss might give in the sun. After my first drift day, from watching the footage back I realised gunmetal wheels (or any dark wheels) are a bad idea on drift cars as you really struggle to see the angle, the wheels therefore got another respray...
I then purchased this lot off a friend...
Bonnet pins were added (as a 300 bonnet opens from the windscreen end it makes it totally removable), kit was fitted and a half cage was also done...
Then I added some arches and a hydro handbrake as I found the standard one to be quite weak at the first drift day...
A quick pic and video of the last drift day...
Also a good multi purpose vehicle ;D
With the thought of the summer coming up and no rain I decided to address the lack of power issue...
I won't put up all the pics of the engine build as its going to turn into the longest first post ever but its running stock 7.5psi on megasquirt, mixture of 3" and 2.5" exhaust pipework and cone filter. Really useable power range, the turbo spools by about 2.5k and pulls hard all the way to the redline
(missing filter don't worry there is one on it)
Powerdyn reading, obviously isn't going to be dead accurate but as standard it read 105bhp and should be more like 113bhp so its not going to be a mile out, over a speed test i've done with my mates 200sx (with 2.5" system, cone filter and T28 but only running on 6psi) I'm trapping 3mph slower over a 60mph speed range.
I'll update when I do more parts or have any video footage ;D
cheers
