Hi guys, just joined. Loving the site and hoping to get to the show in the summer ;D Heres my '95 TDi Vento & MK2 Golf GTi 16v: Not many mods to either apart from a little lowering and cleaning.

Thanks for the comments guys. At first I thought people would be disgusted with the car but it seems to have been received pretty well. The rims are standard Vento CL rims with a coat of black paint and then I fired on a set of silver trim rings. Heres a closer pic: Just got a votex roofrack for it today so fired it on:

Welcome to RR!! :-)
Is it just me or is the Vento a better-looking car than the Mk3 Golf??? I always thought the same about the Bora as well. That's a nice ride!!

Nice cars - clean and subtle. Unfortunately I killed my Vento this morning, so need to find a replacement asap

Hit the central reservation on dual carriageway trying to avoid someone who pulled out in front of me. They didn't stop. Might fix it (mechanically just to keep it going) but its been a pain in the backside for a while now, so might get another one and just remove/swap the good bits and scrap it. Need to use car for work though, so gotta get somat sorted asap. I knew I should have stayed in bed with flu this morning

Ouch that looks nasty!
You could probably sell the parts from it and buy another without taking too much of a loss.
@ Mark, yes I'm from NI, although both the cars are originally from England as our cars don't seem to last as long over here...

Coog - is your's Mystic Blue? I think I'll try and find a nice GL TDi and swap all the good bits over as could do with something thats better on fuel for everyday. After a couple of hours work this evening it currently looks like this: Stripped the suspension off, swapped the bent driveshaft and broken CV for a spare one i had and all i need now are another wishbone and steering arm. Got a new balljoint in the garage already together with a used antiroll bar link arm/bush, so with a bit of luck will be back on the road soon, albeit looking a bit rough round the edges! Bodywork's been bashed out a bit and got the indicator working again, but will need some new tyres - good excuse to stick the Wellers on for a bit ;D Coog - you got any more plans for yours? Here's my old ones. Another 2.0GL which died of old age: And my old VR6 which I still miss:

Last update and blatant hijack of Coogs thread (sorry : Vento (back on the road) on G60 steels: Hunt can now begin for a mint replacement.
