still not sure this is retro, but since the Chrysler has taken a hospital run I decided to spend some Saturday giving the wifeymobile a little love. Came up nice for a car which cost us £0 and is 15 years old now. As an aside the miles were 66,666 when I went down the Co-op in it Saturday evening.... Been looking forward to that for a while and had no camera with me... Didn't do anything much fancy just a good wash and buff wwith terry towel and then waxed it with Autoglym. Did all the interior the other weekend but did all the glass over with cleaner and Autoglym's glass polish this time.

Its a GLXi with a few extrAz as well... ExtrAh bargain points. Mark, I've tried the Megs stuff and I don't get on with it. Adam, I'm not allowed to touch it. Although I do keep having thoughts about how neat it would look slammed over a set of 14" slot mags I happen ho have here, same stud pattern as well, so...

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Mark, I've tried the Megs stuff and I don't get on with it. Try some Poorboys then, or Turtlewax paste

I have still some of that Simoize solid wax which is from like the 1960s or something in a steel tin. That stuff does the business but I don;t have the energy to use it! It also recomends it for furniture polish and something to do with boat decks LOL.
I have some regular Turtlewax...

I think it would look the nuts. In fact I know so. Slots have no tyres currently.

Looks well, in fact looks like the long lost twin of my recently buffed Galant. I might bang a thread up, see if you agree.
Intrigued as to how you got it for £0!

well, a bit of a cheat on my bargain hunting skillzors, but it goes like this.
Ma & Pa buy new Mazda 626 back in 1992. 14 years later Ma and Pa go to chop said Mazda in for a Toyota Rav4 as my Ma has arthritis and cannot get into a "low slung" car like the Mazda any more and also wants an automatic. Dealer says he can do £750 off the price of the Toyota for cash, or will offer £300 trade-in on the Mazda. Pa says "so I have to pay you £450 to take the old car off us basically?" dealer says "erm, yeah, I guess" and Pa takes the cash price deal, drives the Mazda up to ours and dumps it on the drive saying "that saved me £450, sign the V5C here will you?"
Nice one. One owner, full main dealer service history, 62K miles, full MOT and even had some rent left on it.

Come up very nicely. When ever I buff a car I always finish it with a polish that seems to be trade only here and I don't know if you even get it. Farecla (I think) wax top polish. Nothing compares to that stuff and its the easy polish to use by a long shot.

I have a bunch of Farecla compounds in the garage. Good stuff but need to be used by machine. I had a vague idea they did a wax too, but never used it.

Yeah I use a few of their buffing compounds aswell, but do yourself a favour and get a small bottle or ask for a sample of the wax and see for yourself. I'll leave it at that I feel like I am advertising now, it just always impresses me.

Mileage is amazing, you just cant find them like that, a few years ago when they more "current" I used to get them offered to me with 225k+ on them on a regualr basis, and they still sounded sweet. That car potentially has another 200,000 miles of trouble free service left to give! 4 door version is a rarity too.
