It's got coiled springs in the front, and I don't know what they're called in english. But in tranlated danish they're called "leaf-springs" in the rear. I'm not changing them, just adding some spacers between the axl and the spring. Leaf springs is correct...and we call the spacers lowering blocks. Thanks! Allways nice to learn something new!

One day on my way to work, two young guys in a Vito, were laughing and pointing their fingers at me. That's when I decided that I was in serious need of a cooler car. KWOTE. ;D ;D ;D Love it, some form of 60s Opel or Audi is so on my list. Loving your style... Keep us posted.

Two blokes in a Vito were laughing at a Kangoo???!!!
Was it a van or a people carrier (V class)? because the V class is the more overpriced, crappiest Merc ever..
A kangoo owner by rights should laugh at them because at least the kangoo is a simple, fairly priced box
Your Rekord is far better than any of those MPV things, rest assured.

changing springs on a 40+ car is not the as easy as it might seem. Bolts and nuts seems to grow pretty curse word stuck! It took us (2 guys) about 4 hours to do the job. And then it turned out to be 2 different springs we had used. So the car was tilting when we were done. Well it took me 20 minuttes the following day to change the one spring that was wrong.

Well thanks so much ev'rybody, for the kind words. I'm loving the car myself too. The reason I bought, was because my wife and I were expecting a baby, and the old van, was swapped for a Renault Kangoo. One day on my way to work, two young guys in a Vito, were laughing and pointing their fingers at me. That's when I decided that I was in serious need of a cooler car. [glow=red,2,300]Ressurection[/glow]Today three guys in a Nissan were twisting their necks off to look at my Rekord, and giving me thumps up!!! Now that'll make any guy pleased about his ride!

Awsome looking car, nice '60s yank'esque shape, as someone said a bit like an Impala.
An earlier Opel is on my 'to get' list. One day.....

Mechanic's rule #1... If the car works, anything left on the floor after you finished wasn't needed in the first place

The car has now been lowered in the back too. Finally! A bamboo roofrack has been fitted, for my boards. Let me know what you think of it?
