mk2 was fords first computer designed car, they over engineered it for safetys sake, they are well tough, ive had a fair few of em, and when i was a youngun they got used and abused, always won all our car crash competeions over the fields.  |

Cool! I also wish I'd owned one of these at some stage. I had a mk3 many years ago and was thinking how much better than the then still fairly common mk2 was. How wrong was I?! Regretted it ever since! Would love a mk1

i was looking for a Mk1 coupe - but the prices are silly - even for a rotten one
and i don't like the essex (unless its in a scimitar)

mmmmmm, Scimitar!
I'm not a big fan of the mk1 coupe, I prefer the lines of the salloon. I'd love a 2 door saloon but most of them are left hookers from germany.

Nice car. I had a Citrine Yellow (Mondeo Si Colour) MK2 Granada 2.8i Special and quite a few Ghia X's. You can fit Jeep Cherokee 16" Alloys to them and they have a little dish  |

thanks for the Jeep alloy's tip - ive been looking at the prices on ebay - seem a bit steep and most have 245 tyres - same PCD as a Volkswagen Type2
also been looking at Merc A Class alloys on ebay - but not sure about the offset
*** Jeep needs adding to the 112 X 5 PCD list in the features section ***

Are you keeping it carb or adding the XR4x4 injection? running a 38 Dgas at the moment, but I m thinking of a 2.9 24v Cosworth conversion in the future, and if funds allow using a megasquirt kit to really boost the BHP ;D  the man sat on the bench in the right of the photo - very strange - I was there for about 10 minutes taking snaps - and the whole time he was looking at the traffic and talking in a walkie-talkie  |

Engine and box change on a mk2 take 20 mins or less if you got all the gear, so i don't think they would be to worried. |
