I bought this car early in January, so its about time I started a thread I had been looking for a mk2 Ghia X for a while, but most were simply to far away, and autos - found this one, payed too much but got exactly what i wanted; 2.8 Manual Ghia X (the X's have thicker antiroll bars for better high speed cornering), without the metric wheels (although i did get a set of Ghia alloys with the car, fro originality), in pretty good condition for a 22 year old car - the front valance has seen better days, and the inner wing rails are scabby, as are the one wing top and both sides have the familiar Granada line of weeping rust sores near the door hinge. Its a lot of fun to drive - and when the LPG set up has been completed and certified - dirt cheap to run

also found two knackered track rod ends that explains the steering judder under heavy braking took the opportunity to take some underbody shots too, as you can clearly see oil has been travelling along the underside of the car and coating everything this looks like an area needing attention

Love it, reminds me of my dad's old Mk2 Granny. Although his was a 2.3 rather than a 2.8...

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

mk3's are extra cheap at the moment - as the insurance quotes usually frighten most people
mk2's seem to hold their values because of banger racers paying silly money for them - i think i will keep this one and (once the LPG is sorted out) i should get my money back if / when i decide to sell

Much better shape than all later grannies. I think the Mk2's lasted a lot better as well, thicker metal than Mk3s but with much better paint/rust protection than Mk1s!
