First post on Retro Rides , so hi everybody
Here's a pic of the Red Rocket ,a six can - 2am ebay "bargain".
Great little track day car , pretty standard car apart from ;
Interior mostly removed and fr seats replaced by MK3 Recaro's with harnesses, seats mounted straight to floor for that Touring Car driving position.
Home made fr/rr strut braces.
15" Passat steel wheels with Yoko a539.
Fresh, slightly lowered suspension.
New but standard fr/rr pads/discs.
Pic taken a couple of weeks ago at an Oulton Park track day , I'm in the passenger seat pointing to the wet track at Druids, telling mate Ian (1st time on track) to slow down a tad....
The resultant spin on the grass, thankfully did'nt involve tyre wall unpleasantness , just mild embarrasment
Used to run one of these when nearly new in '89 and it's great to
give it a good tanning on track every so often.
That said , i've got a soft spot for Pug 309Gti's , had four of them, make great track day cars -and cheap too.
Fasst as well with Mi16 conv .
