Pics shamelessly stolen from wocketfast, as I haven't had a chance to take my own yet! Mods inc. Uprated boost to around 8-10psi Volvo Intercooler Nissan Sunny Radiator Nissan R32 Skyline front brakes 17" TSW Imola's Been looked after VERY well, with oil and filter changes every 3k, lots of reciepts for timing belt, head gasket, clutch, every gaskets and boot under the sun replaced. Its actually been purchased as my Scumball Rally entrant in April, but no doubt I'll end up keeping it beyond that. Plans are to junk the Skyline brakes and the rims, fit the standard brakes back on, which will allow more retro JDM rimmage (let me know about 114.3 PCD rims folks!), plus serious stick hitting. Also may upgrade to a T25/28 turbo, dump valve, and a more free flowing exhaust than the twin pea-shooter affair currently residing there! Probably also binning the kit and white bumpers and going a more 'stealthy' approach.

I took it to work today, folks are used to seeing me in the Audi, me being all Managerial and all. Once bloke said "That's got to be the worst car I've seen in our car park....EVER!" ;D

Are the current wheels 5x114.3? There should be quite a selection available for them anyway. Some big old Wolfies maybe? ;D

Nope, 'line brakes have been redrilled to the 'Bird 4x114.3.
There's no limit as to how much you can spend on the car after you've bought it, either...
I don't think my wallet will stretch to a £1500 set of wheels and tyres on a £500 though!!!!

There's one of these running round locally (except it's a J market pillarless model) slammed on wiiide RWD offset Longchamps XR4 rims, with fat bolt on flares. Looks so tough.
What motor has that got in it btw? Is it a CA18 of some kind?

Whats the smallest wheels that will fit over those brakes? 15, 16 ? steels may give a bit of extra clearance ? Congrats on the purchase, an asset to any car park

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

nice buy, I'm a big fan of these barges, loads of potential what always surprised me was how cheap they are to insure, dispite the word turbo in the name.

Probably also binning the kit and white bumpers and going a more 'stealthy' approach. I was thinking that when I saw it in the For Sale section. Excellent idea! You could even go as far as minicab livery!

You could even go as far as minicab livery! That's exactly the route we've decided, Al's Cabs, complete with TAXI sign on the roof, and made up signs for the bodywork. Even some nice beaded seat covers and a nodding dog for the rear parcel shelf. Hi mate, thats a great car!! ;D But is upping the power and downgrading the brakes a good plan? It wouldn't be me! Change the wheels, but leave the brakes. All the best with it! Cheers! Graham

Cant fit anything smaller on with those 'line brakes.
There are many ZX owners running 200BHP+ and using standard brakes with uprated pads and discs, mine is only putting out around 150BHP (est).

When you say smaller, do you mean the width of the caliper, rather than the diameter? From the pic of your wheel, you've got a ton of room between the back of the caliper and the wheel rim, but not much room at all between the face of the caliper and the wheel spokes. Are you looking for a set of 15" wheels, or smaller? Id guess from the pic, a 15" would fit, but you'll know far better than I do Either way, Id be VERY reluctant to downgrade my brakes, even if they work on somebody elses car. You can never have enough brakes mate!! ;D Hope you don't think I'm being critical of your car though, I think its great!! I just feel you would be taking a step back in changing your brakes. All the best mate! Graham

Well as the previous owner I can shed some light on the wheels/brake combos. The smallest you could get away with might be a 16". I only got the 17"s because the origonal 15"s were not going to fit over the brakes. They are 114.8 x 4 The engine is a CA18ET and for fook sake if you remove the body kit (bumpers/spoiler) etc then make sure you over them up on the ZXOC. The spoiler is one of the best and I know Blue Neon was after a whole bootlid in white. She'll see you 1500 miles round Europe with no problems I'm sure of it. One of the best stealth cars out there, even with the wheels
